Watch this bus transform into charming cottage-style RV

By Cheri Sicard
In the video below we join Josie of Bus Off with Josie for a time-lapse build tour of her unusual Mercedes bus tiny home, named Bo.

Josie’s bus transformation turned an old bus into a charming feminine cottage on wheels that truly reflects its owner’s unique aesthetics and personality.

A professional dancer by trade, Josie had no previous DIY experience when she began this massive project. However, you would not know it by looking at her bus transformation.

She readily admits the bus-building stuff didn’t exactly come naturally, but it was an incredible learning experience. It took her three years to complete the project.

The bus was old and in reasonably rough shape when Josie began. She tore everything out and started from scratch, adding insulation, flooring, ceilings, and walls. She cut and installed vents and windows. Plumbing, electrical, upholstery, and woodworking and cabinetry skills also got added to the long list of things learned during Josie’s process of completing the bus transformation.

She even installed a wood-burning stove! (Not as outrageous as it sounds—check out this post.)

While building the practical parts, Josie also focused on infusing the mobile cottage RV with her feminine design aesthetic.

This is not a how-to video, but rather a time-lapse video of the entire project. That’s right, three years condensed down to 16 minutes (eight if you watch at double speed).

What do you think of Josie’s romantic cottage home on wheels? Leave your comments below.

Incredible! We gutted a blood mobile, added a bed over the cab from a truck camper and built a Class C. Took over a year and I forgot how much work it was until this video! She did an amazing job!

I could not live/camp in that clutter. Good grief.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 That was amazing! Took me a while to realize rhat she is in the UK. Working on the bus in the yard with other stuff was odd. Eventually, I saw the right-side steering wheel and understood. Thanks again, have a great week, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
