The picturesque province of Nova Scotia makes the top of a lot of RVers’ bucket lists. The video below, from Keep Your Daydream, will help you plan your Nova Scotia RV trip and fill you in on important details to know before you go. You’ll also be treated to some first-rate Nova Scotia eye candy from our hosts’ trip there.
The video covers a lot, starting with crossing the border (with dogs), and an overview of the entire Nova Scotia itinerary our hosts used to explore this unique maritime province, the costs involved, helpful resources, and the attractions you definitely will not want to miss. They even go into local cuisine and things you must try while there, and offer tips for exchanging money.
And yes, Nova Scotia is big-rig-friendly!
In addition, the KYD team talks about road conditions and even the ferries. You will need to take a ferry if you want to go to Prince Edward Island and an even longer one if you want to go to Newfoundland, something I HIGHLY recommend. That has to be one of my all-time most memorable RV trips in a lifetime of RV trips.
As a bonus, there’s a quick stop in beautiful Quebec City before heading towards Nova Scotia.
They passed by New Brunswick to get to Nova Scotia more quickly, but if you have time, I would argue that New Brunswick merits visiting, too. In fact, I would personally choose it over Nova Scotia, but that’s another story. You can also get a ferry back to Bar Harbor, Maine, at the end of your trip.
Watch the video, as words can’t do the spectacular Nova Scotia scenery justice, from seascapes on the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia’s bucolic wine country, to national parks, to exploring the island’s largest city, Halifax. They packed a whole lot into this relatively short video that will help you plan a Nova Scotia RV trip. It’s easy to see why Keep Your Daydream is one of our readers’ very favorite RV YouTube channels.
Just a couple of the attractions you’ll vicariously experience include:
• The Bay of Fundy, which boasts the highest tides in the world!
• Visiting Peggy’s Cove lighthouse
• Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail Loop

Very interesting. Looks like a great place to visit.
Having read the Reader’s Digest article on Oak Island, I have always been fascinated with the mystery and wanted to visit. Perhaps next year…..
Next trip I will allot 5-6 weeks & ride the tidal bore! Also do a helicopter trip over the Old Sow whirlpool on the border between Maine and Canada, only fixed whirlpool in Western Hemisphere. Bell homestead is in NS. He helped pioneer deaf education & invented many useful gadgets.
