Join Izzy from Endless RVing (one of our readers’ favorite RV YouTube channels) for another easy DIY project. This simple 10-minute tankless water heater fix could actually save you thousands of dollars in potential RV damage!
Izzy says he and MJ don’t often camp in winter, so this was something new to them. They have a Truma tankless water heater in the rig. Despite its description name, the appliance actually does have a one-liter tank.
As they don’t intend to be winterizing and dewinterizing while on the road, Izzy instead opted to install a Truma winterizing kit that allows you to use the water heater when going down the road in temperatures down to -4 F.
Izzy begins with an explanation of how the kit works to keep the water in the small tank warm. He then shows you step by step how to do the simple install. The entire video is only about 8 minutes long, so you know it won’t be too difficult.
The gadget resembles the filter already on the water heater but with the addition of a heating element.
The one downside of this tankless water heater fix? At around $240, it is kind of expensive. And you have to take it out when you want to fire up the water heater. Izzy explains why and how in the video. But this fix will keep the water heater from freezing and damage from occurring during cold temperatures.

Thank you, Cheri! I wax and wane on these guys, but this is one of their better, more important videos. Thank you for calling it to our attention! 🙂 Safe travels!
I love MJ and Izzy!
MJ and Izzy are one of the best examples of why RVing can be so rewarding. On a medium filled with deceitful hucksters and conmen, there are no other video hosts who are as genuine and sincere as they. Thanks for giving them some air time. Don’t pass up any opportunity to meet them in person. You won’t regret it.
I agree, their content is excellent. They are up for one. of our annual video awards (results coming soon).
