After a long day in the saddle, it’s great to know you have a place to overnight the RV. RVtravel.com readers showed much interest when truck stop king, Love’s, started putting in RV hookup sites for a modest charge. Here comes an offer some can easily take advantage of—10% off Love’s RV campgrounds. Yeah, there’s a catch—you’ll need to have an Open Roads fuel discount card. But if you pump diesel, that’s a good thing.
Discount fuel program leads to 10% off Love’s RV campground fee
We’ve written about our experiences with the Open Roads discount program. The original brainchild of a Texas trucking company, it grew into a discount fuel program for RVers. Here’s how.
The outfit had a fleet of big rigs. They negotiated with a lot of truck stop companies to get a discount on their fleet fuel. Of course, the more fuel they bought, the greater the discounts they received. To buy more fuel without adding more trucks, they partnered up with willing RVers. The RVers essentially buy their fuel from Open Roads, which really buys the fuel from the truck stops.
Our personal experience as members of the Open Roads program tells us you really can save money when pumping diesel. We’ll publish a “real time” story about this when we wind down our summer tour—look for it in early fall.
The icing on the diesel-pumping cake: 10% off
But for a little icing on the diesel-pumping cake. Now through the end of the year, if you stay at a Love’s RV Truck Stop, you can use code TSD10 to save 10% off your stay.
Sure, it serves Love’s well. After all, if you stay overnight (or several nights) in one of their hook-up camps, you’ll be more likely to fill up the tank at their fuel island. Suits us, as if we need a hookup site, a discount on the already “pretty low” price of a Love’s hookup is just dandy with us.
10% off Love’s RV campgrounds. A deep discount on diesel. It’s a combination we like. If you’re already a member of Open Roads, just use the discount code shown above. If you’re not an Open Roads member, but fuel with diesel, learn more about our experiences and how you can benefit by clicking here.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 Interesting development. I wonder how much separation from the truck parking area the campgrounds usually are? We have not seen any of the outlets that has a campground. We tend to favor Petros and TAs over Loves because their net prices tend to be lower. But, DW looks for tge lowest price, not the deepest discount, when we start planning a fuel stop.We really like participating in the Open Roads program. We just exchanged our old toll module for one from their new partner. Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
Bummer for us gas users!
Love’s App will give us gas users 10% also. Their gas pumps have trouble reading the bar code off of the phone screen. Have to go inside to start the transaction. Still, 10% on a 40 or 50 gallon fill-up is worth the walk.
We use Open Roads and have saved hundreds of dollars. Just wish I had started years sooner. Have seen the RV sites when fueling but they have always been too close to the big trucks, too noisy and as high in cost as nearby private RV parks. May try with discount now when just traveling through.
👍
Loves hookups are horrible. Their prices are outrageous! Their hookup facilities are noisy, cramped, and smell like diesel fumes.
Pay $50-$60 to sleep in a truckstop? None for me thanks. @@
The price is not reasonable in my estimation .Would never stay there.
We have stayed at several Love’s RV Stops and have found them very nice. Some are a part of the overall Love’s complex with only power and water, but even though they are in the main complex they have been in an area away from the location of big rig parking. At other Love’s RV Stop locations they are actually across the street in a separate area and are set up like a conventional RV park with concrete pads and full hook ups. They even had basketball and pickleball courts and playgrounds. We have not encountered any excessive noise or fumes at any of their RV Stop locations.
Loves RV Stops are nothing more then a cement pad in the middle of chaos with all the loud cars, trucks and motorcycles in an out of the parking lot all day and night. Think loud motorcycle starting up after getting gas. Vroom Vroom Vroom at 3am !!! Dont expect to get much sleep. For $50 it really is not worth it unless you have no other options.
