Escape trailers recalled for risk of kitchen fire

Escape Trailer is recalling certain 2024 Escape 17, 19, 21, 23, and 5.0 travel trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.

As many as 248 trailers may be affected by the recall.

A circuit board that overheats increases the risk of a fire which can lead to injury or worse. This safety recall was issued August 21, 2024.

Remedy
Dealers will cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, or remove the LED backlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 26, 2024. Owners may contact Escape Trailer customer service at 1-604-703-1650.

Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Seems a bit ironic, huh? that an Escape RV might catch fire due to a manufacturing defect and cause the owners to … escape. 🤔 😯😉 Seriously, too bad that still another manufacturer had to issue a recall. Glad that they discovered the error, sad that it happened at all. Thanks again, have a great weekend, safe travel, and safe stays! 🙂
