WASHINGTON, DC (April 3, 2025) – Gas prices jumped this past week, with the national average for a gallon of regular going up by more than 10 cents to $3.26. Several factors are driving the increase, including refinery maintenance and summer-blend gasoline switch. Jumped up a little over .20 cents a gallon just this week alone in the San Diego area .
$4.49 a gallon at Costco 😢
Same here in Western PA. 20¢ this week and 10¢ the week before. Went from $3.39 to $3.69 in two weeks.
Still WAY better than a year ago.
Yep, .50 less than last April 18th. Good ol California summer blend..
All of the Gas price increases the previous 4 years were never made into a headline like this one. TDS at its finest!
Au contraire, Ed. I just searched on our website and we have dozens of articles regarding gas and/or fuel prices over the past several years, whether they were going up or down. We call ’em as we see ’em. It appears you’re the one inserting politics into it.🤔 Have a good evening. 🙂 –Diane at RVtravel.com
I agree, Diane. The article clearly stated the increase was mostly due to refining maintenance shutdowns and the switch to summer blends. Even that with the increase it’s still down YTY.
No TDS in that story! Just reporting the balanced facts. 👍
As someone with a nose for TDS, I would agree, the patient is TDS free, in this article. Still down year over year, just up a little this week.
I find it hard to believe, when I constantly see gas in different areas of northeast Pa at some gas stations with a 30 cent price difference.
I think that’s good that there are differences. It shows free enterprise and individual station price setting.
You could be in my home area where “miraculously” every station in a 25,000 population town all change prices identically within an hour and are always high compared to prices 25 miles away. Gee, I wonder how that happens? 🤔😉🙂
Yes they were! And we were told over and over the president controls the gas prices.
Still $2.85 a gallon in Parker, AZ when paying cash. 10 cents more using a card.
I thought prices were going to be lower.
They are…. 9% lower than last year, in fact.
Smoke…smoke…smoke those cigarettes.
it was all a lie and misdirect. As everything is from him
Some areas of North East Pa had pockets this week of $2.99 and $3.07 a gallon.
We have regular gas at $2.35 and Diesel at $2.75 at Walmart here in Texas.
No reason for going up.. since oil is at a low again. lowest since 2021
“I will bring prices down on day one”…..waiting…waiting…
They are lower. Pay attention.
Crude oil closed on the market yesterday at $66.53 per barrel. How long has it been since we’ve seen prices for oil down that low? At least four years.
Can someone please explain to me what a winter and summer blend is? Is this really a thing, or is it just another false excuse for oil companies to increase prices?
It has a fuel additive for gasoline that was mandated by California to ostensibly lower exhaust emissions during the warmer summer months.
The price of crude is dropping in anticipation of a global recession. Prices at the pump should follow.
Thank you for the update, RV Travel! Ha! Tennessee is #2! Beats #7 or #8, but unfortunately is not the lowest. Have a great week and safe travels!
