The National Park Service has released bodycam footage from officers responding to the July 4 Yellowstone shooting. As we reported earlier, a Yellowstone contractor employee, Samson “Lucas” Fussner, had earlier taken a hostage, then made threats to shoot participants at events outside the park.
Fussner never left the park, but on the morning of July 4 was tracked down by park law enforcement just outside a dorm and dining hall at Yellowstone.
Yellowstone shooting video “intended to help community members gain understanding”
Following protocol regarding officer-involved shootings, Yellowstone National Park has now released body-worn camera footage from that officer-involved shooting at Canyon Village.
The community briefing video shows the significant sections of the body-worn camera footage from some of the involved law enforcement officers. The video is intended to help community members gain a better understanding of what occurred.
A media release from the Park Service says that the incident is still under investigation. This includes the actions taken by NPS law enforcement officers. It is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
All information in the community briefing video is based on the details currently available. Some images and audio in the video have been altered or concealed to protect the privacy of the individuals involved. [See below for link to video. Don’t click on the image.]

Thank god for those LEOs. Without them, the coward Fussner could have done serious injury to many people.
