Shipments of recreational vehicles to dealers in March were up 1.2 percent over March 2023. The RV Industry Association’s survey of manufacturers found that 32,243 units were shipped, up 374 units from last March. Towable RVs fared best, up 5.9 percent from last year. Motorhome shipments, however, were down 27.8 percent from a year ago with a mere 3,225 units.
Shipments of towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended the month up 5.9% from last March with 29,018 units.
“Our cautious optimism for the year continues,” said RV Industry Association President and CEO Craig Kirby. “The strong desire to get out and RV continues with our latest survey data showing that 89% of RVers have taken an RV trip in the past year and 26 million Americans planning to take an RV trip this spring. Millennials, many with young families, show the greatest interest in RVing with 38% saying they would like to take an RV trip during the next year.”
Park model RVs finished March down 36.5% compared to the same month last year, with 343 wholesale shipments.

Sounds low. It seems like local RV TV ads are up over 1000% from last year
Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Craig Kirby is way beyond an optimist. He seems the sort who would say, “Other than THAT, how did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?” I wonder if an advisor inserted “guarded” into his talking points to make him seem remotely in touch with reality. Thank you for the news either way, Russ and Tina! 🙂 Safe travels! 🙂
