Help National Park rangers find vandals spreading puzzling graffiti

It’s another case of national park vandalism. But this time, the culprits are connected to “Bird Nazis.” Can you help?

Purple “Bird Nazis”

U.S. Park Rangers are investigating multiple incidents of destruction of property and vandalism in the area of Herring Cove Beach and the Wood End Marsh trail bike rack in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The vandals struck sometime between June 15, 2024, and the present.

Vandals used purple spray paint and emblazoned “Bird Nazi” on multiple park features. Graffiti is vandalism and is extremely difficult to remove.

Repair of vandalized sites, if possible, is costly and time-consuming, and often cannot restore the site to its former condition.

Defacing any part of the national park or other public land you visit hurts, and it degrades the experience of other visitors.

Can you help with this case of national park vandalism?

Cleaning it should be pretty easy – however long it takes will be up to the efforts of the purple- painter-gang jerks when they’re caught. That should be their sentence, in addition to 30 days in jail with Big Crazy Bubba as their “roomie.”

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 Is some part of the park service being called bird nazis, or are the bird nazis expressing their disapproval of some policy of the park service? Good luck to the park service in their search for the culprits. Seems at the very least the culprits should be fined and compelled to do public service in line with the expense in dollars and hours of work to remove the grafitti. Thanks again, have a great Independence Day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂

Is it just me or are others wondering what “Bird Nazis” are about? I can’t tell if they are for or against birds. Call me confused.

These are likely people who are unhappy that portions of the Cape Cod National Seashore are closed to the public to protect nesting shorebirds

Thanks for the explanation. That explains the term they used.

As a side note, I’ve spent a lot of time in Germany and Poland visiting the concentration camps and other historic sites from WWII. People that use the word Nazi have no idea how deplorable, brutal, racists, fascist, oppressive and repressive they were. I have a hard time with people using the word Nazi to describe an inconvenience. (I’ll get off my soap box now).
