We wish Dr. Seuss would write a book about RVs. We can only imagine how hilarious it would be to read out loud “… Some are big, some are small, some go fast while others fall! Some you drive, some you tow, some ride high and some ride low!” Oh, the places you’ll drive… (Hey, that was pretty good for making it up on the spot, wasn’t it?)
RVs come in all shapes and sizes. Some want mansions on wheels, others want beach shacks on wheels. It all depends on the person and how you want to use your RV.
How long is the RV you currently own? Do you wish it was longer? Shorter? Taller? Smaller?
It’s funny how what seemed “just right” when you bought it can start to feel too cramped… or maybe too big to park without breaking a sweat. One day you’re dreaming of a tiny teardrop trailer for weekend getaways, and the next you’re eyeing a 45-foot diesel pusher with room for your dog, your hobbies, and maybe even your in-laws (if they behave).
No matter what size RV you roll with, there’s always a story behind it. Maybe you chose small so you could sneak into cozy campsites, or maybe you went big to bring along your kayak, grill, and 14 pairs of flip-flops. Tell us your RV size—and your style. Please vote in the poll below. If you’d like to leave a comment, we always enjoy reading them.

28′ 8″. State and local RV park size friendly.
34 feet and no Slides. Fits perfectly in my barn for local safe storage 125 feet from the house.
The survey seems to be classifying an RV as motorized class A, B or C units only.
I pull a 30 foot trailer with my pickup. Total length close to 50 feet.
“An RV, or recreational vehicle, is a motorized or towable vehicle designed for camping, travel, and leisure activities”
Actually Bob…this is how the survey classifies an RV:
“Some are big, some are small, some go fast while others fall! Some you drive, some you tow, some ride high and some ride low!”
you’re so cool… 😉
40 ft., 21 years old. Newmar Mountain Aire DP. ~220k miles on her now. We’re fulltimers and haven’t stopped traveling yet.
21 year-old 35′ (tongue to spare tire) CrossRoads in excellent condition. Purchased 10 years ago from first owners.
We purchased our one and only RV when we entered the RV life in 2012. It is a 2004 MH. We love it just the way it is.
Our 2014 21′ Coleman has a good layout for the two of us and is easy to pull and maneuver with our 2019 Ranger. We use it mostly for short camping trips (3-5 days) and once or twice a year for a 10-14 day trip. We have no plans to get a larger unit, but if we were living in it for longer periods of time, we would feel differently!
After towing a 26’ Jayco for 12 years, we decided to down size. After a couple false starts, we finally settled on a little 2014, 14’ Sportsman. We made the dinette into a permanent bed by adding a Lagun table mount to the settee. Not much walking around room, but it is comfortable, has everything we need, and it’s a breeze to tow and setup.
I have a 24′ TT and F150. Many CGs ask for “RV” length to determine site placement. It’s often unclear if they are asking for the total length (42′) which has led to some tight quarters.
2011 aluminum CampLite 13QBB. 16 ft. Overall length. Easy pull with our F-150 for GA to MT trips or 2024 Ranger for short trips.
1976 FMC which is 29’ long and very maneuverable. Have traveled 120,000 miles over 25 years with it. No plans to change.
Model 42LH, but is actually 43′ – 11″. I usually just round it off to 44′.
7 feet….. of shower height.
Is that 35′ or 42′?
44′ on the books, 44′ 11″ tip 2 tail.
We have a 22-foot Roadtrek (Sprinter chassis). It is the third one we bought within the first year, and we have been happy with it for fifteen years now.
Voted on our larger and mostly stationary TT at 37′ (including tongue). The one we use for travel is 22′ (including tongue). Moved out of the larger TT last Monday morning and 6 days (today) and 1.635 miles later, the smaller TT is based out of our house for the summer. Repeat the trip south next fall for the 9th winter.
I’m the (very) proud owner of a 2020 25′ Thor Majestic 23A (refurbished Cruise America rig) and a 2014 Honda CRV AWD toad. As a solo, senior, female RVer, I love it!!😊😊
Just asking for length of RV is meaningless. Is it a motor home or a trailer? They’re very different.
Thank you for the question, RV Travel! RV #2 is longer than 35′ by 10″. RV #1 was longer by 8′ 11 1/2″. Have a great week and safe travels!
