According to HealthDigest, the average American goes to bed at 11:39 p.m. Across the globe, that time is just about the same: 11:40 p.m. on weekdays, and 12:10 a.m. on weekends.
Where do you fall in that spectrum? What time do you most often go to bed at night? Is it early, before 9 p.m.? Do you make it until about 10:30? 11? Midnight?
After you vote in the poll, please feel free to be more specific in the comments. Thanks!

Next poll: What time do you get up in the morning?
Agree, I’m shocked if I sleep beyond 5:30 am and this is the only time of year when I do that. (I see that you posted your response 50 minutes ago. 🙂 )
Too much to do and too little time to do it. I get a lot done in the evenings after the wife goes to bed and the 2 Labs to their beds. I might get to bed by midnight.
When you were a kid, you wanted to stay up late. When you are old, 10:00 IS late!
Something called “pumpkinitis” between 9 to 10 pm by my doctor.
Another poll with results that confirm the average rvtravel.com reader/respondent is….
OLD! 🙂
(NOT a bad thing)!
I can’t get out of the habit of watching the 11 o’clock news.
We go to bed after midnight at home (watch the 11:00 o’clock news). We don’t watch TV in the RV, so we usually call it a night about 10:00.
We midwesterners probably go to bed earlier than either coast—our nightly news comes on at 10pm.
Earlier in the winter (like 8pm). Later in the summer (9-9:30p). Sunlight has a lot to do with it.
My average time to go to bed is to start preparing at 9:45 and mostly in bed with lights off by 10:30. I would like to see a poll about what time people get up. I have heard it said that tall people sleep longer.
5’8″ – Since retirement, 8 hrs and I’m awake. Regardless of when I go to sleep. It took 6 months upon retiring to get rested to the 8 hour point. While working, I felt tired constantly from the age of 18. Seldom got 8 hrs, and didn’t strive for it. Now I feel great. I feel the whole 8 hrs needed thing is true… for me.
Lol, I see what you did there
hit it about 9:15 and get up at 4:30 each work day, sleep in until 6:00 am on the weekends
I go to bed right after I wake up on the couch. Could be 2:30 – 3am.
I usually fall asleep on the couch around midnight.
You’re my hero.
Time zone and DST changes account for the most variation. The dog has a more consistent clock than I do.
As I age TV becomes less alluring than my bed.
7 hours for me, 12-7 AM sleep hours. Must take leg cramp pills and low dose 325 mg Acetaminophen,
We are retired and sleep until 8, 8:30 AM most days. So, most days I go to bed between 12:30 and 1 AM. If I/we have to rise earlier — e.g., some kind of appointment, or to prepare the RV and leave on a trip — then I go to bed earlier, as early as necessary to get 7-8 hours of sleep. DW has trouble falling asleep much of the time. She typically goes to bed around 10 PM and as early as 9 PM. Yet, I usually get more sleep than she does.
