Everyone seems to forget the magic of seeing a movie on the big screen until they’re seated in that movie theater chair with popcorn in-hand. It really is magic.
Do you watch movies? If so, do you mostly watch them at home or in your RV, or do you go to the movie theater? (Or, perhaps if you buy the new 2024 Salem FSX 30VCVIEW from today’s RV review you’ll have your own movie theater in your RV!) If you do go to a theater, when was the last time you went?
If you haven’t been out to see a movie in a while, we suggest you go and find that magic once again.

That’s first movie my wife and I saw in a theater together. Well worth the price of admission and the movie was good too.

“The Boys in the boat” excellent, safe for families.
Once a year, New Years eve. Boys in the Boat. I”m glad this movie came out when it did, because two weeks prior there was absolutely nothing showing that I would of paid a quarter to see. It’s either super heroes, animation or medieval fantasy for a different crowd than I.
Whenever the last Lord of the Rings movie came out. Can’t stand all the cell phone usage, people chatting, kids running loose…Not a fun time.
There should be signs that cell phones must be turned off and the policy enforced!
PS: same thing with concerts.
What you want people to do without their phone for 2 hrs, they may die.
Just like people obey speed limit signs. World is full of ME people.
I meet with a friend 2-4 times a year for dinner and a movie, usually a Monday or Tuesday when movies are cheap.
Never! You need one more option for those of us who have never gone.
Wow! How did you get through your teenage years? It was the only non church related date, I was allowed to go on. Lol
Last year, daughter said it was a terrific movie, we went, I fell asleep, later daughter said it was supposed to be great according to the reviews. I told her movie reviewers get paid by movie producers to say nice things. That was the first movie theater I’d been to in 30 years, and my last!
I saw “Churchill” with my nephew in 2017. Prior to that I saw “The Naked Gun” in 1988, “Raging Bull” in 1981, “Car Wash” in 1976, “Thoroughly Modern Millie” in 1967, “The Sound of Music” in 1965, and “Mary Poppins” in 1964. Now you know every movie I have ever bothered leaving the house to see. 🙂 (Left to myself, I would have seen four movies, “Naked Gun” and the three with Julie Andrews, but social circumstances led to me attending a theater to see the other three. )
Maybe once a year. We’d go more often, but there are so few movies worth the cost or effort anymore.
We love the movie theater. Our little town gets the new movies about a month after release. By that time it’s available to stream. And if the movie is over 2 hours, gotta pee, but the theater won’t give intermission like the old days. Again, easier to stream at home.

Boy! Aren’t we a socially irrelevant group!
There aren’t very many movies that come across my radar these days that are worth watching. Some get a mental note to check out when they come to Prime or Netflix but are usually forgotten.
The one exception was about four years when “Ford vs Ferrari” was released. Something about it looked interesting to both of us and by chance our local theater was showing a Sunday matinee. It’s a great show and seeing it on a big screen made it even better.
Top Gun: Maverick.

B. Popcorn and soda cheaper at home.

1996 river wild , being a paddler I was looking forward to seeing it as the outdoor magazines did heavy promotion of it. Very disappointed as it turned into a bank robber flick.
Lol…but it was a good flick…one of my favorite with MS.
My problem is that the volume is much too loud.
I usually carry inexpensive foam earplugs.
Last year we took one of my Grandsons to see Mission Impossible..great entertaining movie! But that was after the over 45 minutes of commercials and previews before the movie even started..😖
I don’t dislike your experience, just your 45 minutes of shilling you were subjected to prior, That just sucks big sweaty hairy soccer balls!!
As we try to visit our national parks each year, many have what I consider movie theaters, generally not large or what would be considered appropriate for showing Hollywood blockbusters. However, they do feature a movie about the park and its history. I find these theaters to be enjoyable and the volume low enough, I can leave the earplugs in the RV.
Most movies come to streaming soon after release, so why chance Covid in an enclosed space with a hundred or more other people?
Went Christmas day with grand to see Migration (?) Before that Aug 1 for anniversary outing in Mi. Before that….years and years! Had to answer month when historically that would be incorrect.
We just simply don’t go. I’m not about to pay some snowflake’s salary.
Top Gun Maverick. Some movies you just need a big screen and big sound. Amazing movie!
