Ah, sleep, the best time of the day! Who doesn’t look forward to a good night’s sleep at the end of every day?
How well do you sleep at night? Do you “sleep like a log”? Do you have trouble sleeping sometimes but most of the time you sleep fine? Do you always have trouble sleeping? Is sleeping a real problem for you?
After you vote, please leave a comment. Do you have any special nightly routines or habits that help you sleep (taking melatonin or other sleep aids, having a white noise machine, etc.)? Your comment could help someone else start catching some good zzzs again. Thanks!

Up and down all night been like that for many years even wearing a CPAP.
read where people have been overdosing on melatonin. As a nurse, I’m very interested in keeping up w/health issues. There are different methods for getting a good nights sleep, all of which I’ve tried. For example yogi tea, which my 44 year old son swears by. Valerian root. Google for harps music, or wave sounds no music. The waves sound no music comes in varying lengths, from1/2 hr to 10 hrs. It occurred to me yesternight that that’s what the LaQuinta Inn uses as a space saver(wallpaper?) on the TV screens to help travelers sleep. But my LilSnoozy has the absolute best mattress to help with good sleeping. That’s the mattress that’s made in SC, just like LilSnoozy. Out of all the mattres
See below for the start of the thread
All the mattresses (5) between the city house & the retirement house, that Snoozy mattress (made by Best Mattress in SC) is the most comfortable to me.
Normally sleep very well until mother nature comes calling around 5am. Then I sometimes have a problem falling back to sleep. My mind starts wandering with things that need to be done.
Sleep… What’s that? According to my health watch I got a total of 4:45 hours of sleep last night and only 40 min of rem sleep
I’ve got a Garmin watch that ‘supposedly’ measures deep and light sleep. According to this thing I get very little deep sleep and lots of light sleep. The way I corrected this was to quit wearing the watch to bed. Now I get hours and hours of deep sleep.
The right mattress and the right temp/airflow.
My biggest problem is going to sleep, since I retired it seems like my brain goes into overdrive thinking about things. When I was still actively working my late wife would get very upset with me as she said I would go to sleep talking in the middle of a sentence, hers or mine. That was when I was working 6 12 hr and 1 8 hr shift while our youngest son was in school learning diesel mechanics. I guess I was so tired my mind went blank. I wouldn’t want to work like that again, but it would be nice to go to sleep like that again. Lol
I’d be lying if I said I never nodded off mid-sentence too Bob, hers or mine. Pretty sure most of…us…. here…… have…..zzzzz.
NOT AT All! and if any maybe an hour or two at most, the problem with that is I also suffer from chronic pain! The less I sleep the more my pain level increases, the more I sleep the less I suffer, I hate it but I must take meds to sleep and I’m not talking about the average sleep meds just one of the sleeping meds I take is enough to knock out a horse 10mg Valium then 12.5 time release Ambien as well as 10mg regular Ambien and to top it of Mirtazapine because why not 🤷🏻♂️ and then I sleep for about 8.5 and wake with little less pain and in my world that means A LOT
Tremendously sorry for your chronic pain. Most people don’t understand chronic pain or what the suffering for an individual that experiences chronic pain truly looks like. As such people can be very judgemental about the medications associated with simply getting enough rest or relief in order to function through a day. Keep the faith and I agree, nothing like a good night’s rest to help manage the hours of the coming day.
Having Seasonal Adjustment Disorder, my sleep pattern is dictated by the sun. During the summer months I typically sleep 5-6 hours an evening, increasing to 8-10 hours during the winter (plus a 1- 2 hour afternoon nap). Thankfully I have learned to regulate my mood, but nothing other than direct sunlight relieves my lethargy. I guess that makes me a solar powered model. Now if you’ll excuse me; it’s time for my nap.
Me too I’m an early riser especially in the summer.
I sleep best when tired.
