Sure, we love traveling by wheels on land, but cruises are fun too, aren’t they? Do you enjoy taking a break from RVing and hopping aboard a cruise ship every now and again?
Ocean cruises offer a completely different kind of adventure. Instead of driving from campsite to campsite, you’re gliding across open waters. It’s a chance to trade the hum of your RV for the sound of waves, with all-inclusive dining, nightly entertainment, and no shortage of places to explore. Whether it’s sipping cocktails on the deck, dining at a specialty restaurant, or enjoying a live show in the evening, there’s something special about life at sea.
For RVers, cruising can also be a great way to take a “vacation from your vacation.” Let’s face it—while RVing is rewarding, it comes with its own set of tasks: setting up camp, maintaining your rig, and planning your routes. On a cruise, all of that is done for you. Want to soak in a hot tub without worrying about the water level? Or enjoy gourmet meals without washing a single dish? Cruises are the perfect excuse to kick back and let someone else take the wheel—or the helm!

We just completed a16 day transatlantic cruise from Rome Italy to Fort Lauderdale FL.
No way! If you were on the Caribbean Princess, we were on the same cruise.
I finally made my dream trip to Antarctica in January/February of this year. We actually landed on the continent.
The other trip was an expedition cruise from Nome, Alaska to Vancouver. We visited the Pribilof and Aleutian Islands as well as cruised the Inside Passage.
We just got back (October) from a 23-day LA to Auckland, New Zealand trip. Lots of sea days to relax.
We cruised twice a year before we got the RV. Now we cruise in our RV land yacht….
I had all the cruising I needed in my 26 years in the U.S. Navy surface fleet.

Just back from a two week cruise to New Zealand and back from Sydney. Love cruising. Then spent a week around Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
We are full-timers now and we enjoy taking a cruise as a vacation. We did an Eastern Carribbean 2 years ago, a Mexican Riviera last year, we are doing the Panama Canal in March of 2025 and just booked a Mediterranean cruise for October 2026. Cruising is one of our favorite ways to see other places outside of our beautiful country. We have managed to see 38 states in our almost 4 years of full-time and have loved every minute of it! We have been very blessed to do this. Safe travels to all, however you choose to do it!
I can’t think of anything more miserable than being on a cruise ship.

Plenty of good things to do besides cruises. Just because a person doesn’t want to cruise doesn’t mean they don’t have a good life! Geez.
One, boring. Two, should my mode of transportation break down, minimally, I would like to be able to walk home.

We did an Alaska cruise on Carnival lines for our 50th wedding anniversary this year. That was the only one where we stayed aboard for a week. We’ve previously done some river and lake daytime cruises.
Much more enjoyable than the cruises I did for Uncle Sam during my 20 years in the Navy. I was in a sea intensive rate in engineering. ⛴️
We just got back from a NCL Panama Cruise, 17 days. It was on my bucket list. We had a wonderful time and the canal was an experience of a lifetime!
No, but planning a 10 day Danube river cruise next September.
Small boats, less than 100 passengers. Alaska, Nile in Egypt, river cruises in France and Germany.
No but taking a cruise for first time in 6 months!
If my yearly 8 day deep sea off shore fishing charters with complete 3 meals a day plus snacks and drinks count as a cruise? Then yes!

Not a multi-day boat cruise or ship cruise. Don’t ever let a Squid hear you call those big vessels on the ocean a boat.
We did the “Christmas with Mickey” cruise with our kids and grandson two years ago and planning an Alaskan cruise next summer. We’ve talked about taking a cruise to Hawaii sometime. It’s a lot of fun.
I spent 21 years in the US Navy on three different classes of ship. I’ve done 6-8 month cruises on way too many occasions so not really interested! LOL Thankfully my wife isn’t interested either.
We enjoy the small expedition ships (50-150 passengers), and the wonderful places they go; worked them for 20 years, retired and our RV is our land based substitute. Early in 2024 on a bit larger vessel in the southern Gulf of California for the total eclipse. Great place from which to watch the eclipse.
I had several more then 5 day cruise on a carrier thanks to US Navy. Although was more the 50 years I still remember. No thanks. Of course we were on Ships not Boats.
We took a river cruise through five countries on the Danube last summer. It was wonderful. There were only 160 people on board.
