For those who decorate only their homes, the focus may be on creating a warm and inviting space for family gatherings or guests. Large trees, outdoor light displays, and personalized touches like handmade ornaments or heirloom decorations often take center stage. This year, many are opting for sustainable options like LED lights and reusable materials to blend festive traditions with eco-consciousness.
On the flip side, some RVers and homeowners choose to skip the decorations altogether. Whether it’s due to travel plans, a preference for minimalism, or simply the hustle and bustle of the season, opting out can be just as fulfilling. After all, the holidays are about more than décor—they’re about creating meaningful connections, regardless of where or how you celebrate.

Candles in the windows, wreath on the door and a small tree 3′ on the end table. That’s enough anymore.
We have two sets of red plastic bells that we bought when we got married 55 years ago. These are put in the two front windows in the house. Plus a few decorations inside.
I used to light up the the house like Clark Griswold when my daughter was young.
I’m too old to be climbing ladders now.

I miss stringing popcorn for the outside tree. Birds loved it. Lack of birds this Winter.

We do some decorating in the house with a tree and some small items in a couple of rooms. Nothing outside as it is too hard to get up and down on a ladder nowadays.
Not yet is my answer. The motorhome is tucked in its shed for a winter nap. We never get around to doing a few home decorations until a couple days before Christmas. We’re minimalists when it comes to decorating for any holiday. I guess this weekend…but first I have 8″ of new snow to clear.
We have a 7′ pencil artificial Christmas tree in our 5th wheel.
My wife and I don’t see eye to eye over decorating. I draw the line on the RV because most of what she wants for the RV would need to be secured every time we move. I am about getting up and go quickly.
The poll is “Did you…”. I’m taking the “you” as “us” since it is not me who decorates. My own personal elf loves to go all out. She’s cutting back this year in the house as she’s only utilizing 9 large totes from the basement. I have no idea how many totes remain. It does look very nice I must admit. My involvement is putting the angel on the tree and fixing anything that doesn’t work.
Nothing in the motor home as it is in storage. I hadn’t planned to put up a tree this year however my granddaughter and 4 great grand kids would not hear of that! So, they put an all white 5′ tree upstairs and an 8′ full traditional tree in the lower level. I guess Christmas dinner will also be here as “Granny” always made it and it was always here. Granny has now passed into our memories. I am so fortunate to have them, especially this lst Christmas season alone otherwise!
I did hang green wreaths with red bows on the 4 outside house lights and on a couple of tall planters by the front door.
Our tree ornaments are gathered from places we have visited so every year we are reminded of the places we have gone.
Oh yes. Two trees inside the house, Christmas decor all over and a Christmas Village she sets up on the coffee table every year. Takes a couple days to get it down from storage and set up, but it makes the Holiday complete. The Village is my favorite.
Never the RV. Have been doing less and less as the years go by. No more putting up the 5′ star on the barn roof or trimming the roofline of the barn and house – Wife and daughter have put the ladders under lock and key. This year is now the first with not putting up lights on the front fence. The entire neighborhood appears to be darker this year than in the past. We all used to tie the whole neighborhood together. New people move in, times change, money is tighter. On the other hand, Christmas in Florida has never been like it is / was up north in the cold and snow.
I guess I could say home and RV since our RV is our home. This is 4th Christmas and 2nd year I could decorate since we have a spot to store in the RV. It isn’t much but makes me happy.
