Do you talk out loud to yourself when you are alone?

Okay, this is a safe space… you can admit to us if you talk to yourself or not. After all, we have no way of seeing how you vote in our polls.

According to WebMD, 96 percent of adults say they internally talk to themselves, and 25 percent say they talk out loud to themselves. Which category do you fall into? Or neither? Both?

We think talking to yourself is perfectly normal. The only time things could get weird is if you’re in a tightly packed RV park with all your windows open… Hmmm…

Oh, and no, talking to the dog doesn’t count…

(Diane’s son had a sign on his bedroom door many years ago: “It’s OK to talk to yourself, and it’s OK to answer yourself. But if you say, ‘Huh?’, you know you’re in trouble.”)

No, I’m not so dumb as to take advantage of advice from someone like me…

Air may not go past my vocal cords, but I do talk myself through most activities or projects in advance. Decidedly part of my planning process.

Usually only when I am working on a project and make a mistake or manage to hurt myself. Then the conversation gets very ugly.

Not often but when I do, it usually starts with, “Wow, that was stupid….”

When I read this question, I immediately (and out loud) said ‘No’. Guess I was wrong….

Of course I talk to myself. That way I get a more intelligent answer, and talk to a better class of person…

…but I pretend that I’m talking to my dog.

Oh yes always! And to the dog and cats as well! (I also talk to myself when others are around!)

I said occasionally. What it didn’t ask was what I say. It’s usually, “Damn that was stupid”.😂

Thank you for the question, RV Travel. Yes, I talk out loud and to myself. My internal debate is how often I should say this happens. Ultimately, I picked the second-most frequency. Maybe it is the first; not sure. Have a great day and safe travels!
