No RV? Where you gonna go – when you gotta go?

For most of us, a road trip with our RV takes some of the guesswork out of that necessary human function: A trip to the restroom. But what about those times when you have to travel without the benefit of your RV? Just how do you know what restroom is going to be one that you’ll come out of feeling refreshed — as opposed to being sickened?

The editors of the gas shopping app, GasBuddy, recently published the results of a member survey of the cleanest bathrooms in the U.S. on a state-by-state basis. While some gas station chains were repeatedly seen throughout the U.S. as being the proverbial “clean as a whistle,” you might be surprised what stacked up.

For example, while Chevron “cleaned up” in most West Coast markets, California’s vote went to Rotten Robbies. Whooda thunkit?

You can see how the votes went and get click-throughs to each of the winning sites by visiting the GasBuddy results here.

Russ and Tiña went from childhood tent camping to RVing in the 1980s when the ground got too hard. They've been tutored in the ways of RVing (and RV repair) by a series of rigs, from truck campers, to a fifth-wheel, and several travel trailers. In addition to writing scores of articles on RVing topics, they've also taught college classes for folks new to RVing. They authored the book, RV Boondocking Basics.
