Cleaning RV air vents: A simple, important task to breathe easy

By Gail Marsh
I don’t know about you, but I rarely look up when I’m inside our RV. That changed a few days ago. I happened to be contemplating very deep thoughts (read: relaxing) on the sofa when I noticed the intake air vent above me. Hmm … it looked dusty. Really dusty! “Is there a way to clean that?” I wondered. Because the vent was too high to reach, I went back to the bathroom where I could easily reach the vent. Wow! This one was dusty, too!

Water leaks under kitchen sink when using water heater on LP. Dealer can’t fix it!

Dear Dave,
I just bought this RV in December. There have been multiple leaks under the sink in the kitchen and the bathroom. I have had it in for repairs multiple times at the dealership and they say they have fixed it, but I beg to differ. And in the overall grand scheme of things, it doesn’t leak continually.

Now under the kitchen sink it only leaks when I turn on the propane portion of my water heater. I have the electric part turned on all the time. I only turn on the propane portion of the water heater when I take a shower. It leaks every time. Any tips or advice, because I am done with the repair people. I feel they have exceeded their level of competency. And I know that is not a very Christian thing to say; it’s just how I feel at the moment. —Julie, 2024 Forest River Flagstaff

Southern Arizona’s “best-preserved” ghost town

By Dave Helgeson
This month we will travel to Ruby, Arizona. Ruby is another private ghost town located in southern Arizona, as was last month’s featured ghost town of Castle Dome, AZ. Snowbirds wintering in the Tucson area may want to pay it a visit before heading home this spring. Since it has been privately cared for since its demise in the early 1940s, there is much to see and is well worth a visit. “Ruby is the best of the hundreds of Arizona ghost towns or at least the best-preserved of the many in Southern Arizona” —per the Southern Arizona Guide. Continue reading.

Quick Tip

Trailer rocking? Here’s a possible cause

If your trailer rocks, even with your stabilizers engaged, check your leaf springs. Worn leaf springs can create quite a seismic disturbance!

Easy Lemon Chicken

by Cathy Miller from Davison, MI

For how easy this lemon chicken is to prepare, it’s super delicious. Tangy, savory, and sweet all at the same time, the chicken is juicy and tender. Serve with rice for an easy and flavorful weeknight meal. If you love lemon, give this a try.

Thank you, Emily and Diane! 🙂 The mystery gift of the day was interesting, but I know no one who’d buy it. I wonder what sorts of reflections from it one might have to combat in order to see where you’re going? Based on Stinger45’s comment, I guess those are sunning alligators on the side of that road. I enlarged it and still was unsure, but that would have been my guess. I suppose it might be best to avoid running that particular road. 😉 Have a great day, thanks again, and safe travels! 🙂

Not all trailers have the dreaded leaf springs. Glad our Rockwood Minilite 2205S doesn’t.

Hmmm. Looks like alligators just may be able to read signs. “Next one is mine, Charlie.”

I think my lost socks have been hooking up with my lost left gloves and my 10 mm sockets and wrenches.
I’d post a reward but I bet 2 out of three are getting a little stinky.
