A shock hazard leads to Winnebago recall from Winnebago Industries, Inc. Winnebago is recalling certain 2024 Solis motorhomes. The lavatory may have an incorrect standard outlet installed when there should be a GFCI-protected outlet. A lack of proper circuit protection increases the risk of electric shock and injury. 136 motorhomes may be affected.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the outlet with a GFCI protected outlet, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 26, 2024. Owners may contact Winnebago customers service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago’s number for this recall is 182.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov

Thank you, Russ and Tina! Interesting, only 136 RVs affected, but doing recall!?! Congratulations to Winnebago for taking ownership, admitting to the problem, and fixing it. 🙂 Will quality control get better and these be avoided, or is this a sign that manufacturers are paying more attention, even though it’s belated attention, to their manufacturing process? Safe travels! 🙂
Big deal on Winnebago recall
A $8 outlet and 10 minutes fixes it
Most modern homes have plastic plumbing lines so it would hard to find a grounded surface in a home today
Can’t really imagine much difference in an Rv unless you stand touching the metal body of the rv
