Tour the unique custom Rossmönster Baja truck camper—too much counter space?

In the video below we get a walk-through tour of the Baja truck camper from Phillip of Rossmönster Rigs, a builder of custom vans and truck campers.

This unique pop-up truck camper is available for short- or long-bed trucks and is custom-built to your specifications.

The Rossmönster Baja truck camper

The recently build Baja truck camper in the video is totally customized and ready for adventure. It was built on a Ford F-350 chassis sitting on 37” tires. It is decked out with light bars on the bumper and up top on the front, not to mention a 12,000-pound winch with a synthetic line.

The custom fiberglass composite shell with an actuating roof allows this vehicle to be compact and streamlined while driving, but luxuriously comfortable and four-season capable when camping.

On the exterior side of the camper, you will find the Rossmönster MaxTrax Table. It sits flat against the body when traveling but converts to a table at camp. There is also an outdoor shower close to the door. The teak doormat can come out from inside the camper to provide an elevated spot to stand while showering.

Continuing around to the rear, three custom molle panels support storage boxes, the spare tire, and various tools and supplies.

Inside the Rossmönster Baja truck camper

The inside has a light, contemporary feel with a tongue-in-groove pine ceiling and butcher block countertops set off against a travertine backsplash.

Up front, you can relax on the queen-sized cabover bed. Also, of course, the back dinette converts to additional sleeping space.

A small upholstered seat next to the bed lifts up to reveal a dry flush toilet hiding underneath.

The galley is small and features a small fridge, microwave, farmhouse-style sink, and LOTS of counter space. The Aqua-Hot hydronic heating system provides hot water as well as heat to the camper.

What’s not to like?

I like a lot about this camper. That said, there is almost too much counter space that I think could possibly have been put to better use with more storage or better bathroom facilities. But then, as these are custom-built, the customer probably had a reason for that. As in most small RVs, the sink is a tad small for my liking.

Rossmönster Baja Truck Camper specs

As each of these campers is custom-built to order, there are few specs beyond these that apply to this particular build only:

  • Fresh water: 30 gallons
  • 800 amp hours lithium iron phosphate batteries with 3,000-watt inverter
  • 400 watts rooftop solar
  • Base MSRP: $369,000

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Wow! What a truck for … ~$370,000!?!?! Interesting to see, no doubt, but only as window shopping. 🤔 Thanks again, have a great day, and safe travels! 🙂
