In the video above, we join The RV Guy for a tour of the 2024 HOST Everest Campers truck camper, an unusual camper with a side entry and three slide outs. Inside, the HOST Everest feels more like a small travel trailer than a truck camper.
One thing I noticed at the HOST website is that this camper has a LOT of options, so you can configure it with exactly what you need to make your perfect BIG truck camper. But for the sake of this post, we will concentrate on the one shown in the video.
This one has a solar package, which will definitely appeal to boondockers. HOST offers three different off-grid packages for the Everest truck camper, so you can choose the one that best meets your needs and budget.
The kitchen, with its flip-up counter, is functional and bigger than most truck campers. It features solid surface counters, a 2-burner cooktop, a convection microwave, a 10-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator/freezer, and a large sink. Counter-flush covers for the sink and stove give you lots of extra counter space.
There’s a large dry bath with a 24″ x 38″ shower.
The camper in the video has the king bed option, which still gives you a nice, large wardrobe closet. If it were me, I would opt for a queen-sized bed and more closet and storage space instead.

What’s not to like?
It would not be a make-or-break issue for me, but it appears the toilet placement is high (like some RVs are). Not only that, but the way the cabinet behind it is placed, it looks like tall folks might hit their heads if not careful.
Of course, a camper this huge is going to need a substantial truck to carry it.

This unit carries more fresh water than our 30′ TT! As Cheri mentioned, the loo seems a bit high. Not a fan of dangling feet when sitting . . . I always wonder about the allowable lean factor with these slide-ins. But, this unit does seem to come with a lot of good stuff. It looked like it had the aluminum multi-foldout stairs, and that’s a plus compared to the one-piece foldup stairs.
We’ve been living in our Host Yukon for 1 1/2 years now & the toilet issues you mention are definitely a problem. It’s very difficult for a man to stand & go, & you need a stool for sitting down. The features of the Host campers are wonderful, but the build quality is seriously lacking. Our new unit had over 70 issues & failures in the first 18 months. Because they only have 12 dealers around the country, I had to fix most issues myself. Almost every piece of equipment in the unit failed in the first 18 months. I have unwillingly become intimately familiar with every square inch of our camper, inside & out. Now that I’ve fixed everything we are enjoying it.
That’s a LOT wrong, especially for an RV that is THAT expensive! Thank you for sharing Fred.
Operating outdoor speakers should be a felony offense.
Of course I’m just kidding.
Right?
:o)
Agreed, Gregory. 🙂 So long as they don’t play them at 11. 😉

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 This is one pricey RV. Admittedly, it has tons of nice features. The weight of the camper must imply, what? a 350/3500? Or can a 250/2500 safely haul this? Does the length also imply that one must have a long-bed truck? Seems as though one will need a large heavy-duty (aka, expensive) truck to safely carry this rig. The combination of truck and camper seem unlikely to fall below $200,000. Wow! Amazing stuff! Thank you for finding and sharing this, Cheri! 🙂 Safe travels! 🙂
