If you own a smoker and have never smoked macaroni and cheese, you need to try this. The subtle smoky flavor really shines through in this creamy and delicious mac and cheese. The low and slow cooking time makes the cheesy goodness meld with the macaroni, which is cooked perfectly. Definitely worth the wait while this cooks on the smoker. Here’s the recipe.
Creamy Bacon Chipotle Mac n Cheese
by Lora DiGs from Monroe Township, NJ
What a unique take on macaroni and cheese. The evaporated milk does indeed make this very creamy. Bacon and chipotle give the mac and cheese a nice smoky flavor. Chipotle also gives it a kick of spice. This was so easy to prepare on the stovetop. No oven needed. If you’re looking to ramp-up your traditional mac and cheese, give this recipe a try. Crusted Broccoli Mac and Four Cheese Skillet
by Linda Bonwill from Englewood, FL
The title of this one-pot mac and cheese is so understated… it’s magnificent! The combination of fresh veggies and herbs set the base for this mac and cheese. We loved the undertone fresh basil gives this whole dish. The combination of cheese is what makes this recipe. The American cheese is smooth and creamy. Then the Italian Parmesan and Romano cheese add so much savoriness. Crusting the top with cheese and bread crumbs makes the most wonderful topping. This is going to be super popular with your family. Here’s the recipe.
French Onion Mac and Cheese
by Samantha Jacobs from Manchester, NH
This is not the mac and cheese you grew up eating… it’s super rich and decadent. The creamy cheese sauce is a nice mixture of the mild Fontina with the zesty Asiago. Caramelized onions add a wonderful flavor and texture. Topping this, though, with croutons and Gruyere brings this mac and cheese to a whole new level. This is not a recipe you’d make every day but great for special occasions. Click here for the recipe.
Easy Macaroni and Cheese Bites
by Sylvia Bourque from Moncton, NB
Yum! These mac and cheese bites are melty, crispy, and delicious. The mix of Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses makes these bites nice and cheesy. We recommend adding the Dijon mustard, it gives a slight tang to the bites. Smoky bacon is the perfect topping. By coating the tins with bread crumbs, they really do come out easily but it also adds a slight crunch to the mac and cheese. These will make a fun party or holiday appetizer but would also be yummy at a luncheon, game night or as a snack. Here’s the recipe.
