Winnebago Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2013-2017 Tour, 2013-2018 Journey, 2014-2022 Forza, 2015-2016 Brave, 2015-2019 Grand Tour, 2015-2021 Vista, 2016-2018 Adventurer, Sightseer, 2016-2021 Commercial Vehicle, 2018-2021 Intent, Sunstar, 2018-2020 Horizon, Itasca 2013-2017 Ellipse, Meridian, 2014-2017 Solei, 2015-2016 Tribute, 2015-2018 Sunstar, 2016-2018 Suncruiser, and Sunova motorhomes.
The turn signals may have a smaller than required luminous lens area. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
A small lens can make it difficult for other drivers to see the turn signal, increasing the risk of a crash and injury. As many as 17,329 motorhomes may be affected by the recall which was issued on October 1.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the turn signals, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 28, 2024. Owners may contact Winnebago Customer Care at 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago’s number for this recall is 189.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Recalled RVs
##RVT1177b

How can something like this EVEN happen?
Probably a complete lack of communications between designers, engineers, assemblers, and all the federal agencies involved in the rv build process ?
I agree that it is “complete lack”, for sure. Rear lighting standards for vehicles in the USA surely have been written demand standards for a long time. I doubt those standards changed within the last RV production cycle.
Yay!! I just missed another recall 😅
Wouldn’t the lens size determine the cut out size in the body as well? If a bigger lens is installed how will they handle that?
Thank you, RVTravel! 🙂 Wait, … what? Recalling 2013 RVs for a problem now … in 2-0-2-4!?! Boy! That gives new meaning to “timely notice!?!” Now doesn’t it?!? Yikes! Have a great day and safe travels with visible turn signals! 🙂
I didn’t realize anyone was using turn signals anymore…Lol
You have to be ‘old’ to even know what arm signals are!
Yep, that would be me…lol
Ditto! 🙂
But, but, but….RVIA says they have COMPREHENSIVE inspections!!! How could something like this occur when RVIA trained inspectors are doing deep-dive inspections??? 🤣🤣🤣
