Are you a AAA member? Then you’re probably familiar with the club’s Trip Canvas tool. It helps members plan trips. AAA and RoverPass have teamed up to give Trip Canvas more value for RVers.
AAA and RoverPass—”A unique opportunity”
AAA’s Trip Canvas in collaboration with RoverPass, which describes itself as “a leading platform in booking campgrounds and RV parks,” offers a new feature for AAA members. Trip Canvas users can browse campgrounds and RV parks, getting detailed information about amenities and local highlights through the synergistic coupling.
A AAA media release touts that “By leveraging RoverPass’s extensive network of campground and RV park options, AAA Trip Canvas users now have the unique opportunity to browse and book a wide range of outdoor accommodations. From lavish RV resorts to cozy campgrounds, the integration offers something for every type of outdoor enthusiast.” AAA and RoverPass are hitching up to bring this all about, so it is said.
If you’re not familiar with AAA’s Trip Canvas, here’s the scoop. The tool allows users to tap into curated road trips, points of interest, and informative articles about U.S. National Parks. They can also save their favorite campgrounds, streamline their booking process through RoverPass, and organize other aspects of their trip. What other aspects? Well, RVers who need to include flights, rental cars, and activities, the option is available.

I wonder if it will actually book your campsite for you- eliminating the need to keep checking for unreserved spots.
This just might be worth checking into, thanks.
I tried the article link as a non-AAA member, although my wife has an AAA mid-priced plan that covers her cars, motor home (we also have Coach Net plan too) and motorcycle. I liked that it gave quick links to area attractions. I did not find the windmill tours listed where we have reservations in April or the RV park we stay at when vacationing in the Palm Springs area. It seems useful as another trip planning tool. However, of all the trips we plan and enjoy, the ultimate planning falls to us.
Anything associated with Rover Pass has “extra charges” added to your camping fees.
With the added fees the actual Price advertised does not include those fees. I personally stay away from Rover Pass. The additional fees for booking a site (service fee) and then additional fees for “reserving a specific site” had me so NO WAY. I dont know if all Rover Pass reservations are like this but the onces I have seen I look elsewhere.
Ummm!. We have AAA RV so I tried the app. NOPE! It’s a cumbersome app that focuses on packaged travel plans to say London. Hmmm. I tried setting up a trip the the Adirondack Mts. OK it centered the search at Adirondack, NY. Selected camping on the map. Up came a dozen or so in a 1000 to 1500 square mile area. It’s nothing like RV Trip Wizard or RV Parky. So I’ll wait until they populate the app with more private, state, national, COE…campgrounds and RV parks. No thanks. Not worth my time and effort.
Thank you, Russ and Tina! We do subscribe to AAA, but use it as insurance against needing a tow, gasoline, whatever. Long ago we used their Trip Tic (?) service to plan routes for trips to a new destination. I had no idea they did any of this. Thank you for the information! Safe travels! 🙂
I checked out Trip Canvas through AAA.
DON’T BOTHER!!!
Not only did it NOT have ANY RV related info, it was clumsy and awkward.
