While Camping World may boast of being the largest RV dealer in the U.S. by the number of its locations, they have strong competition. Blue Compass RV is the fastest-growing RV dealer in the country—and has been for five years. The company has about half the number of dealerships as Camping World, but their growth rate is much faster. Now Blue Compass is cementing its #1 Airstream dealer position. How? By swallowing up another “Silver Twinkie” dealer, this time in New Mexico. Blue Compass and Airstream—the former looks to want to make the names indelibly linked in buyers’ minds.
New Mexico–new mark for Blue Compass RV and Airstream
The New Mexico takeover is Blue Compass’ 13th Airstream location. The dealership will relocate to a dedicated Airstream sales and service facility on Blue Compass RV’s flagship campus on I-25 in Albuquerque, notes a press release.
“We are thrilled to expand our Airstream presence into the New Mexico market,” said Jon Ferrando, founder, CEO, and president of Blue Compass RV. “We look forward to adding the New Mexico store to our impressive list of locations that have qualified for Five Rivet through Airstream’s Five Rivet Program.”
The Airstream Five Rivet Dealer Standards Program recognizes dealers who excel in both sales and service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The program draws inspiration from the fact that an Airstream travel trailer is constructed with about 3,000 rivets. In Airstream’s view, only the best dealerships, meeting the highest standards, earn the distinction of being built with five rivets—representing top-tier quality and service.
Not just rivets—Top overall Airstream dealer
In addition to those Five Rivets, Airstream of Tampa, a Blue Compass RV store, was crowned Airstream’s top overall dealer. That makes the fifth year running. The Tampa location clinched the title of top-selling travel trailer dealership. Additionally, Blue Compass RV earned the distinction of Airstream’s top dealer group.
Blue Compass and Airstream. Eat your heart out, Marcus.

Waiting for the inevitable howling “it’s all corporate greed” comment. As if businesses are in business to lose money! 😆
Yep, can’t wait to read em..lol !! 👍
Yep! Then I think of Proverbs 18:2. (Not gonna quote -don’t want to get in trouble). 😊
Amen to that!

Thank you, Russ and Tina! Interesting. I don’t know how good Blue Compass is, but at least they are not Camping World. Happy new year and safe travels! 🙂
And that Neal is not a high bar to pass.
True enough, Lonewolf, true enough. Have a great weekend and safe travels! 🙂
A small snapshot at best of Blue Compass, they bought out RVOne several years back. I bought two of my used motorhomes from them when they were RVOne. So last Spring I called them to see what their propane price per gallon was. When the dealer was RVOne it was 3.99 a gallon. Now with Blue Compass, $4.99. As I said, it is a small sample at best, but still pulls the covers off a little bit of their pricing structure.
Propane has gone up around here too.
