RVs WELCOME AT OHIO MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Alive Music Festival in Mineral City (south of Canton), to be held July 19-21, offers standard, deluxe and premium RV sites starting at $325 not counting festival admission. Music plays for three days on four stages.
NEBRASKA CAMPGROUND CLOSED FOR UPGRADES
Cedar View Campground at Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area, Nebraska, is closed for renovations. Although it will open June 13, work will continue through the summer with an eye to completion by fall. The upgrades will include new electrical and water utilities leading to 85 camping sites, and eight campsites will be updated with accessible features.
BLACK HILLS TO HAVE BUFFALO ROUNDUP
One of the most exciting events of the year in South Dakota, the thundering annual Buffalo Roundup and Arts Festival at Custer State Park, takes place September 27 to September 29. The park offers a number of campground options. Reserve early.
SEE HUMMINGBIRD BANDING IN MISSOURI PARK
See experts capture, band and study hummingbirds on July 27 at Onandaga Cave State Park, Leasburg, Missouri. Family campsites have water and electric hookups. The program is free with park admission. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
RV PARKING AT PEACHY PENNSYLVANIA FESTIVAL
The RV-friendly Peach Music Festival, to be held July 25-28 at Montage Mountain near Scranton, Pennsylvania, offers on-site parking passes, off-site parking and various bundles that include VIP perks. A shuttle bus will serve concert goers in off-site parking. An all-star line-up of dozens of acts is headlined by Phil Lesh and Friends.
WASHINGTON’S WATERSHED FESTIVAL HAS RV PACKAGES
Camping and country music plus an outstanding amphitheatre setting overlooking the Columbia River Gorge add up to a whale of a weekend August 2-4 in George, Washington. A large selection of ticket and parking packages is offered, but some already sold out. (Great lineup of performers!) The award-winning Gorge Amphitheatre, according to The Wall Street Journal, is considered one of the most scenic concert locations in the world.
PARK REOPENS AFTER SHOOTING
Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas, California, has reopened its campground. It was closed for 11 months after a shooting tragedy. The campground is open on a first-come, first-served basis now, but will be open for reservations beginning June 1.
SEE OLD SPANISH QUARRIES IN ST. AUGUSTINE
Reserve an RV site at Anastasia State Park to be here for a one-hour ranger program on Wednesday, August 14, from 9 to 10 a.m. In this rare chance to see the old Spanish quarries you’ll get perspective on the building of massive Castillo San Marcos between 1672 and 1695.
West Glacier, Montana, will get a new RV park in the shadow of the historic Belton Chalet. The project is being developed by Pursuit business holdings. The first phase is set to open July 1st, and you can get details here. Tip: Book for August or September by May 31 and get 20% off.
In Sheridan, Texas, Splashway Waterpark & Campground is adding premium RV sites on 25 acres. The resort is adding playgrounds, meeting rooms, a restaurant, golf cart rentals and new rides and water attractions.
Plans are moving forward in Marquette, Iowa, to put in an RV park near the Driftless Area Wetlands Centre. The city council approved hiring an engineer to develop plans for the site and determine the cost and feasibility of adding hookups.

Anyone displaced by the recent tornadoes in Missouri can camp for free up to 30 days at any state park campground. Campsites will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and campers need to have their own equipment and supplies. The provincial government of British Columbia has added many new sites at several campgrounds in regions with the highest demand during camping season. For the list of new sites and their amenities, go to the Merritt Herald.
Xtreme RV Resort in Eufaula, Oklahoma, opened last Saturday. The park includes 100 spaces, plus an amphitheater, movie theater, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, basketball and volleyball courts and a storm shelter that can hold 300 people. The resort is one of three Good Sam’s 10/10/10 parks in Oklahoma. Judges rate RV resorts on facility, restrooms and appeal.
A new KOA campground will be open soon in Helena, Montana, the first in the city since 1996. The former Lincoln Road RV Park is getting bathroom upgrades, WiFi upgrades, a larger campground store, addition of a pool and playground, and more, and will “exceed” KOA standards. There are 80 campsites, including pull-throughs.
A luxury RV park will be built at Hilton Head, South Carolina, at the northwest corner of Hilton Head National golf course. There will be 300 high-end RV parking pads, a swimming pool, pickleball courts, a dog park, walking paths and more. Owners of the golf course are hoping the RV resort will sustain the “unsustainable” golf course. The project will take 16-18 months to complete.
