NEW PARK OPEN AGAIN IN OHIO
Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort in Wapakoneta, Ohio, is now open again. Thanks to an army of volunteers, staff and contractors, the 368-site resort is ready for a summer of camping, pickleball, swimming, picnicking, clubhouse events and plenty of planned activities.
PHASE ONE OPEN IN SOUTH CAROLINA
New in Maysville, South Carolina, is The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort. Phase One is now open. When finished, the resort will have three lakes, a swimming pool, bathhouse, poolside pavilion and poolside activities, so check ahead as amenities are added. MEMORIAL DAY OPENING FOR MISSOURI RV RESORT
Memorial Day weekend marks the grand opening of the Great Escapes RV Resorts Branson in Forsythe, Missouri. A 65-acre former Yogi Bear’s Jellystone property, the resort has been renovated and expanded with a new resort-style swimming pool, a Wibit floating obstacle course, and a heavy schedule of planned activities and entertainments for the whole family, including pets. FREE CONCERTS IN DELAWARE STATE PARKS
Did you know that Delaware state parks have free concerts all summer? They’re included in the park’s admission price. To get dates and information about programs from classic rock to country, and also to make camping reservations, visit each park individually. For example, on June 21 at Killen Pond State Park, Delaware, hear traditional country and vintage bluegrass with Turner Collins and The Outlaws.
NEW YORK CAMPGROUND TO REOPEN JUNE 1
A towering white pine forest shades your campsite at Cathedral Pines County Park, Middle Island, New York. The campground aims to reopen June 1 after completing electric hookups to the 80 campsites. A 320-acre former Boy Scout camp, the park is on the headwaters of the Carmans River and has a playground, asphalt camping pads, fire rings and barbecues. BIG PARTY IN KANSAS
They call it the biggest party in Kansas. The Dam Jam Music Festival will be held July 19-20 near the dam on Lake Afton in Goddard, Kansas. Make reservations for a complete family vacation crammed into two days of live music, workshops, food, a car show, contests, cornhole and camping. This year’s music lineup includes the Stone Temple Pilots, Brantley Gilbert, Jo Dee Messina and many more. Reserve early for car, tent or RV camping. Some sites have electricity. FREEBIES IN OREGON
State Parks Day will be celebrated in Oregon on June 1 with free RV and tent camping at state parks and special festivities at dozens of parks. On June 2, enjoy free fishing. For camping reservations see oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com or visit first-come, first-served sites here.
WASHINGTON PARK TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS
It’s time for a big party at Schafer State Park, Elma, Washington. The park is celebrating its 100th anniversary by adding a new restroom building, welcome center and 30 new RV sites in addition to the existing 38 sites. The centennial party is July 20, when celebrations will include a free food truck, yard games, live music, storytelling, square dancing in period costumes, museum displays showing the park’s origin as a lumber camp, and many more family activities. The 119-acre park straddles the Satsop River and is popular for steelhead, trout and salmon fishing.

EXPANSION IN FORT WAYNE, INDIANA
The city council in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has approved a budget for additional RV sites at the 45-site Johnny Appleseed Municipal Park and Campground. The four new sites will be for smaller RVs. The city-owned park has a dump station, shower and bathroom facilities, firewood (don’t bring your own) and a laundry room. ALL PARKS OPEN IN MASSACHUSETTS
All state parks in Massachusetts are open for the season except for Beartown in Monterey and the Sperry Road Campground in Adams. Both are reportedly closed for the entire summer and awaiting upgrades.
MICHIGAN CHEESEBURGER FESTIVAL
By 2026 there should be plenty of sites for RV travelers at the gala Cheeseburger in Caseville Festival in Caseville, Michigan. The city’s Planning Committee approved plans for a new 89-site RV park intended for fully self-contained RVs only. The future park doesn’t have its own website yet so check next year to see how it’s going. Contact local tourism at (989) 856-3818 or www.mymichiganbeach.com.
GEORGIA RV PARK MAKING PROGRESS
The DiVine Village, a 188-site luxury RV resort that has been in the works in Dahlonega, Georgia, since 2021, is nearing the end of its planning stages. Many details have yet to be worked out, but it appears the future park will have 188 to 238 upscale RV sites, an outdoor swimming pool, pickleball courts, a welcome center, large clubhouse and a luxury bath house. NEW IDAHO PARK TO CATER TO OFF-ROADERS
The famous sand dunes in St. Anthony, Idaho, are the future home of the Sand Box RV Park, catering to UTV enthusiasts. Planned amenities include a general store, mechanic shop, playground, recovery services, pet park, vendor area, drag strip and an event center for live bands, rallies, races and such. Also on the wish list are a pit track, rental pit bikes and UTVs, a general store, a shop operated by experienced Polaris and Can-Am mechanics. Stand by for tons of events such as sand drags, Invasions, concerts, luau’s and fiestas. Sign up at sandboxrv.com to be notified as soon as reservations open this summer for next spring. BLM dune access is directly across the street from the park and it’s a short ride to Thunder Mountain.

Janet, Dunno if this has already crossed your radar, but an organic farm to table grass fed meat and poultry ranch in Lee and Hendry Counties, Florida, is opening a pasture for self contained rv units. No dogs or birds whatsoever are allowed for biosecurity, and only cats that don’t leave their RVs. I believe the charge is $70 a night
