MORE CAMPING AND GLAMPING IN MICHIGAN
The Port Huron, Michigan, area is known as the Maritime Capital of the Great Lakes. Travelers enjoy the Blue Water Bridges, the Thomas Edison Depot Museum, Huron Lightship, Carnegie Center, and Michigan’s oldest lighthouse, Fort Gratiot Light. Now the township is also the future home of the new Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort, a sister of the nearby Bridge Harbor Marina. Promised for spring 2025, the RV park on the site of the former township park will have a clubhouse, swimming pool and a pavilion. NEW PARK IN NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS
Camp Landa is now open in New Braunfels, Texas, with a 1960’s vibe with cornhole, planned activities, an arcade, and a heated swimming pool with swim-up bar and a café serving Texas-style foods. The resort will run a shuttle for guests to Landa Falls – the famous float on the Comal River. All RV travelers get a Texas welcome and that includes long-term stays for snowbirds. NEW COUNTY PARK IN XENIA, OHIO
A new campground is moving ahead in a popular county park in Xenia, Ohio. Caesar Ford Park has disc golf, a summer concert series, a pavilion, picnic sites and miles of multi-use trails. LAIDBACK PARK NOW OPEN IN CONROE, TEXAS
Rose Hill RV Park officially opened on April 15 in Conroe, Texas, offering a laidback RV lifestyle under large oak trees. The park has a laundry, workout room, bathrooms and showers, walking trails, fishing ponds and lots of oak trees for shade. The largest RV pads are 24 X 60 feet. CELEBRATE THE APPLE HARVEST IN INDIANA
Save the date! This year’s Kiwanis Apple Festival is scheduled for September 29-29 at the KOA Journey in Batesville, Indiana. The campground has a camp store with hand-dipped ice cream, a K9 park, Wi-Fi throughout the park, a large playground, two swimming pools (closed after September 2) and a 52-acre lake. The two-day festival will celebrate the Indiana apple harvest with live music, apples, food, and games for the whole family. Reserve a site at 1-800-562-3418. For information call (812) 932-1688.
AFFORDABLE COLORADO NATIONAL FOREST CAMPGROUND NEWS
Day-use fees are edging up in White River National Forest, Colorado, to $8 per day or $150 per season. The good news for RV travelers is that by midsummer, it will be possible to reserve campsites at the Yeoman Park Campground near Eagle and South Fork Campground west of Meeker via Recreation.com, using the mobile pay app. One loop at Yeoman will remain a first-come campground. For information call the concessionaire, American Land and Leisure, at (801) 226-3564. Note: Cell phone coverage isn’t available, so get reservations before entering the region.
BRING YOUR ATV, NEW KENTUCKY PARK SUGGESTS TO GUESTS
The new Leslie County RV Park in Hyden, Kentucky, celebrated its grand opening by inviting guests to bring their ATVs. A county park, it has 27 extra-wide RV sites, a general store and some tent sites. It’s an excellent base camp for exploring Eastern Kentucky’s bicycle and off-road trails. FREE BLUEGRASS CONCERTS
Thanks to Friends of Rough River, three hour-long summer Concerts in the Park at Rough River Dam State Resort Park, Kentucky, are free and filled with talented bluegrass performers. For concert information call (270) 257-2311. On July 5, it will be the six-member group named All That. Every Friday night starting at 6:30 through the summer, you can hear a different group. In-the-know visitors usually start the evening with dinner at the park’s popular restaurant. The 5,000-acre state park has lodgings, fishing, pontoon boat rentals, a forest orienteering course, basketball courts and disc and miniature golf courses. Call the park at (270) 257-2311.
NEW PET FRIENDLY PARK IN ALABAMA
Just outside Mobile in Creola, Alabama, the new pet-friendly, gated Deer Creek RV Park has back-in and pull-thru RV sites with gravel pads, full electric service and picnic tables.

160-SITE RV RESORT OPENS IN MISSOURI
The ribbon has been cut and the new Rosebud Resort and RV Park is officially open in Rosebud, Missouri. The 160-site resort has full hookups, a playground, pool, ball courts and short- or long-term rental plans. Town is only a 1/4-mile walk away. (573) 764-5150
NEW AQUA PARK IN LOUISIANA
The new Aqua Park is now open at Poche’s RV Park and Fish-n-Camp in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, giving guests a challenge of obstacles and splashy fun. The 93-acre park has 85 RV sites with full hookups and concrete pads. Almost all of the RV sites face ponds, so guests can fish for catfish and largemouth bass from their own sites. Bring your own kayak or rent a kayak or paddleboat. Campers pay $20 per person per day to use the new water park. Public guests, who can use the Aqua Park on weekdays, pay $30 each. On Saturday afternoons, there’s live music and dancing in the Clubhouse. (337) 332-0326.

i remember a series of articles about a couple that were building a RV park in New Mexico or Arizona. Any news on how they are doing?
