Celebrate National Burger Day with these five burger and burger-inspired recipes

Grilled Pepper Jack Bacon Burger Sandwiches with Jalapeños

by Jenny W. from various places, MT

A burger with bacon, pepper jack, and jalapenos… full of flavor is an understatement. The burger patty itself is seasoned perfectly and jam-packed with flavor and bacon. Stuffing the burger inside a pepper jack and jalapeno grilled cheese makes this the ultimate burger.

We used Texas Toast for the grilled cheese and it made this similar to a patty melt. A wonderful burger during grilling season. Get the recipe here.

Quesadilla Burgers

by Christina Haley from Union City, TN

The concept of using quesadillas as a bun is genius. They add a cheesy crunch to the delicious burger. The meat itself is moist and full of taco flavor. The fresh pico on top is a burst of flavor while the ooey gooey pepper jack cheese is perfection.

These are definitely decadent… and delicious! Here’s the recipe.

“Cheeseburger” Casserole

by Jenny Pennington from Colorado Springs, CO

This easy casserole recipe was like a cheeseburger deluxe. We love the super cheesiness of the dish and found ourselves going back for seconds and thirds.

It’ll be a huge hit with kids (it’s so easy to make they can help in the kitchen). It has all the flavors of cheeseburgers with the bread being nicely toasted just right. So good! Get the recipe here.

Crock Pot Cheeseburger Mac

by Leena Corral from La Mirada, CA

This is an easy dinner that mom and kids will love. It’s cheesy, meaty and full of flavor. The kids will love the creamy, hearty meal and mom will love how easy it is to make.

Once everything is in the Crock Pot, you only have to give it an occasional stir while it’s cooking, fold in cooked macaroni and, voila, dinner is ready. Here’s the recipe.

Greek Turkey Burgers

by Debbie Lopez from Northern, CA

Think you don’t like turkey burgers? These Greek turkey burgers will change your mind. Seasoned perfectly, the oregano is noticeable but not overbearing. Feta cheese added to the meat helps to give these turkey burgers a Greek flair while adding pops of flavor.

What brings all the flavors together is the Tzatziki sauce. Slightly tart and salty, the sauce has a wonderful fresh flavor from dill and cucumber. Toast the bun, and add tomato, fresh spinach, a little extra Feta, and Tzatziki sauce for a delicious meal. Find the recipe here.
