Last month we reported on the terror a group of golfers had at a Florida RV park range. Bullets started whizzing past the group and they hit the deck in fear. Now a guest at the RV park says it wasn’t just the green that got hit—so did his RV. And if he’d been in the wrong place when it did—he wouldn’t be around to report it. The RV hit by bullet incident occurred at the Glades RV Resort in Moore Haven, Florida.
RV takes bullet—Owner glad he wasn’t in the wrong place when it did
When the bullets were zinging around the golfers, Glenn Mlinar was farther back in the RV park. But make no mistake, he heard the gunfire. Glenn told local news media fox4news, “We’re sitting here and all of a sudden we heard bullets whizzing through the campground here. We’re like holy crap that’s close – they were really close.”
Just how close it was, Mlinar didn’t figure out for a week. Washing his rig, Glenn found a bullet hole, right at head level, in the side of his rig. And inside? The bullet went right through the outside of the rig and into the shower. The RV owner figures if he’d been outside hooking up his water hose, he could have easily been hit by the projectile.
Local authorities less than helpful
As did the golf group who were terrified by their near-miss, Glenn Mlinar reported his ventilated RV to the Glade County Sheriff’s Office. The response from the sheriff’s office was just about as heartwarming as the one the golfers received. Mlinar was told that the hole blasted in his RV was “a civil matter.” Was this an RV takes bullet brush-off? “I would think with a bullet hole through a camper it would be more than a civil matter,” said Mlinar.
Both Mlinar and the golf group allege the bullets came from a nearby shooting range. The local sheriff told fox4news that the gun range owner has plans to beef up security to prevent further incidents. But the gun range owners would not respond to either Glenn Mlinar, nor the local reporter covering the story.
As for the hole in the side of the RV? Glenn Mlinar says he would like a little chat with the range owner. “I want to talk to him one on one just to say hey, can we make this right, make sure this doesn’t happen again. I’d like to see the berm they’re shooting at, like how can those bullets make it over here.”
County commissioners may have to duck at their next meeting
As we reported earlier, county commissioners weren’t particularly helpful when approached about the matter during their December 2024 meeting. One commissioner suggested that Second Amendment rights held the trump card. “We can’t stop them from shooting entirely because of their rights,” explained one of the commissioners. “But we can stop them from firing in your direction, hopefully.”
Hopefully? RV park guests have plans to be at the next county commission meeting on January 14. Commissioners might just get an earful from folks who like staying at the Glades RV Resort—but don’t like having to duck bullets when they do.

Sounds like a lazy sheriff.
Sounds more like the sheriff and Commissioners have some sort of interest in the gun range. Are the owners friends, relatives or just want to retaliate for some reason against the campground.
Sounds to me that the State Police or State Attorneys General Office should get involved.
Second Amendment does not give people the right to endanger others lives.

Also, the 2nd amendment is very short and makes no reference to people having the right to shoot their guns. ( In this case without accord nor accountability. ) It states: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”In other words, Bearing arms is necessary to the security of a free state via a WELL REGULATED MILITIA. Taking pot shots is not part of the 2nd amendment. As usual everyone takes everything too far to fit what they want it to be.

Does it really make any difference? The gun range should be situated and safeguarded so no projectiles can leave the property.

I’m fully supportive of 2A. However, a gun range needs to ensure that it is safe and that no bullets can leave the immediate premises. Moore Haven is redneck country so not surprised at the law enforcement response.
I suspect the shooting range is used by the police department and it was their staff practicing that day. Practice got a bit out of hand.

I’m confused. Mlinar says “he would like a little chat with the range owner” but hasn’t? He’ll talk with the news but not the business?
If somebody put a bullet through my rig, I’m afraid I’d be on the news but for a different reason.
