More than 2,400 RV enthusiasts joined together in Tucson last week for the Escapees RV Club’s 59th Escapade.
The event at the Pima County Fairgrounds attracted RVers from across North America and Mexico. The week’s events included approximately 80 educational seminars.
One of the most popular sessions was by Shawn Loring, CEO of Escapees RV Club. Referred to as “Club Talk,” the presentation included announcements of several new and updated benefits for members.
Product development staff from Winnebago Industries Inc. attended the Escapade and offered several presentations, giving RVers the opportunity to speak directly with the people who design and help produce many of their rigs.
As usual at Escapee events, many activities benefited a charity. The DOVEs, a group of Escapees RV Club members, hosted a blood drive that collected 36 units for the local blood bank. Several fundraisers were held for CARE, a nonprofit assisted living program for RVers, raising more than $6,500 through the Hair-Raising Chili Cookoff and Donuts for CARE. Donations of nonperishable food were also collected for the local food bank.
The club announced that the 60th Escapade will be held in Rock Springs, Wyo., on June 21-26, 2020.
