Forest River recalls some fifth wheels for fire risk

Forest River, Inc., is recalling certain model year 2020 Work and Play fifth wheel trailers. The 12V and 110V cables for an optional generator may not be isolated from objects stored in the generator compartment, which can result in an electrical short.

An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will isolate the wires in the generator compartment so that they can’t short, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 31, 2019. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-6302. Forest River’s number for this recall is 31-1036.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
