I am in LOVE with my new Lasko portable space heater. Its long, tall shape does not take up a lot of RV real estate and despite its small size, it heats up my 25-foot travel trailer FAST!
I previously used a small, personal-sized space heater to try to save space and power. It worked OK as long as it was not too cold, but when the temps dipped into the 30s, it just could not keep up.
No such problem with the Lasko portable space heater. Powered by an energy-efficient ceramic heating element, the Lasko portable space heater has two quiet heat settings, High (1500W) and Low (900W). Yep, you can run this with many portable power stations!
What I especially like about the Lasko portable space heater:
- It puts out a lot of heat and can take my RV from frigid to comfortable in about 10 minutes or so.
- The optional widespread oscillation function helps evenly disperse warmth to quickly eliminate cold spots in your RV.
- The heater is ETL-listed and features automatic overheat protection to take the worry out of using it for long periods.
- The self-contained, self-regulating ceramic heating element helps keep the exterior housing cool to the touch.
- It has an adjustable thermostat so you can set it and forget it.
- The power cord is more than 6 feet long, making it easy to move the heater without unplugging it to where it is needed in your RV.
- I LOVE its small size at just 15.7″H x 6″L x 5″W inches.
- At just shy of four pounds, the heater won’t add much weight to your load.
- It can be used on the floor or on a tabletop.
What’s to be improved?
Honestly nothing. This heater was exactly what I needed and the heat it puts out from such a small appliance exceeded expectations.

Heater not found on Amazon!
Sorry, Bob. Yep, it was pulled since Cheri wrote the article and I proofed it. We’ve updated the link. Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
What is the model #. The link doesn’t work.
Sorry, Debi. It worked when I proofed the article the other day. The link has been updated to the page which has Lasko portable heaters on it. However, apparently the model Cheri has is no longer available because she looked for it this morning and couldn’t find it. Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
Cheri’s link for the Lasko space heater doesn’t work & that model doesn’t seem to be available on Amazon. I did find one of that model on eBay for $39.95. The link is Lasko 1500W 3 Speed Oscillating Ceramic Heater for Small/Medium Space – Black | eBay
Most current models on Amazon have remote controls, which this model does not have.
After I wrote this the page was apparently pulled from Amazon. We’ve changed the link to go to the page for the Lasko portable heaters in general. My apologies for any inconvenience. It really is a terrific little heater. I never even have to run it on high as it gets too hot in my RV. I assume another of a similar size by Lasko would work equally as well.
Thank you, Cheri! We bought a taller version of this for my mother last winter. The ability to rotate is very helpful to heating an area. Thanks again!
Similar, possibly better, model available at Costco: https://www.costco.com/lasko-ceramic-tower-heater-with-remote-control.product.4000199370.html
We have had one of these Lasko tower heaters in our RVs for years, but it finally wore out. So, we bought a newer model with a remote and what a difference! Now we can start it on cool mornings or turn it up on cold mornings without even getting out of bed! No more getting out of bed or walking on cold floors on frigid January mornings!
Sometimes when a product is not in stock, Costco will delete the product from their website until replenished. It will be again added when restocked.
All electric heaters are virtually 100% efficient. Portable electric heaters are limited to a maximum of 1,500 watts and all 1,500 watt heaters put out exactly the same amount of heat. The only differences are the fan, thermostat, and safety features.
Thank you, Cheri! Looks a lot like a heater I bought for my mother. She likes hers, a lot. 🙂 Have a great day, a good Thanksgiving, and safe travels!
