We here at RVtravel.com have been to many haunted places around the country, and we love a good ghost story.
If you knew there was a hotel that was haunted would you stay in it? Would you be excited to stay in it? Would you stay in it but not care that it was “haunted”? Would you never, no way, stay in a haunted hotel? We bet you’ve stayed at a haunted hotel and didn’t even know it… so many of them are haunted (national park lodges, anyone?).

the choices were limited so I voted “no way” because of a similar experience related to this. The place became overrun with “supernatural hunting freaks” and the place went from being a nice place to stay with history and charm to nothing more than a tourist trap.
As long as there was no “Bates” in the name. 😉
While I chose couldn’t care less, it wasn’t for the “yes” portion of it. I’ve never been interested in the super natural stuff and don’t really care to stay in hotel/motels. Staying in someplace I have no control over has never been appealing, at least in my RV I know who has been in my bed and it’s clean!

Several years ago we did the Kentucky Bourbon Trail on our motorcycle. We stayed overnight in Bardstown at the old jail B & B which is known to be haunted. Our room still had the steel links in the floor where occupants were chained. It was an interesting experience but to our knowledge, we were not visited by any ghostly beings. Breakfast was served in the ‘exercise yard’ and was really good. After breakfast, the owner gave all guests a short tour.
We actually have on 2 different occasions. I am a believer so there’s no fear on my part. It was kind of fun and exciting!

My wife has stayed at Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO, where Stephen King’s “The Shining” was filmed. But Jack Nicholson didn’t come into her room with an axe and she didn’t see or hear any of the ghosts that supposedly stay there rent-free. Maybe it was because she was there on a business trip (without me) and the ghosts only haunt tourists’ rooms!
I said no way, not because I wouldn’t enjoy some spirit activity, but my costs would double, because my bride would be staying elsewhere.
Only if I didn’t have to pay more for the ‘experience’.
Have stayed at several including one in New Orleans where the spirits kept changing the TV! Many people think spirits are not real, but if you believe in Angels… you believe in spirits

It depends. Are they going to have demand based pricing like Idaho’s doing?
…or a campground within or adjacent to a cemetery!
That was built on an old indian burial ground.
We stayed at the light keepers house on the Oregon coast that was supposedly haunted, but alas, no spooks came to visit.
The list missed St Augustine FL where Ponce deLeon discovered the fountain of youth & the oldest house in the US is found. Plenty of hauntings there with it being such an old city…. and we really enjoyed the haunted pub tour and many other stories to be heard all around the town.
Yes and I have, the St. James Hotel in Cimarron, New Mexico. And yes, I had a ghostly encounter…
I have and didn’t see or hear anything, but then again when the head hits the pillow it’s over and the dog didn’t alarm to anything. But, others that had stayed at the old Inn claim to have had all kinds of happenings. Some older lady said I wouldn’t because I was at peace with myself. Oh well.
Stayed on the Queen Mary. No haunting were experienced.
Also, one in Cody WY…again nothing…darn it.

We did Ross Castle in Co Meath, Ireland. Stayed in Sabina’s Room. Castle is supposedly haunted by Sabina. We didn’t notice any activity.
Stayed at the Glenwood Springs hotel and also the Queen Mary on airline layovers. Didn’t hear or see anything out of the ordinary.
Didn’t vote… hope to never need to stay in a hotel again, haunted or not. I hate packing up my stuff to stay in one. I prefer my RV
