Would you consider yourself artistic?

If someone approached you this very second (like we’re doing right now) and asked if you consider yourself to be artistic, what would you say?

And hey, who cares what other people think, we want to know if you think you’re artistic! It can be anything from you being a painter or a photographer to a chainsaw artist or a landscaper. If you’re a designer, an engineer, a builder… you’re probably artistic!

Please tell us by voting in the poll below. Thanks!

Depends upon your definition of artistic. I can’t draw or paint but I can create beauty other ways with fabric or wood.

I can’t paint, but I can create beauty in the landscape through the design and use of annual and perennial flowers, shrubs, trees, and hardscaping. It’s a passion/hobby, I’m not in the business of landscaping. But, I wish I could paint.

Landscaping and photography are my favorite artistic endeavors . They show a person’s ingenuity and vision
Since last September I have designed and built four new flower gardens. I now sit at the edge and photograph the numerous bird species that visit my feeders.

It depends on the “Art” being discussed. Music, yes. Graphic, no.

As the daughter of an Western artist who made a great living with his paintings and bronzes, you’d think he’d have passed some of that talent to me. Not. One. Bit.

Define artistic…I can take some great photos, decorate well, sew, crochet, etc. Can’t draw well enough to even play Pictionary! Stick figures are a challenge.

After an experience in high school art class during the last century (1958) where the art teacher told me about the only thing I could draw would be flies, I gave up on art.

I can follow someone else’s directions for crafts (paint by number, crochet, plastic canvas, etc.) but nothing from my own mind.

😆 Same with one of my sons, Bob. I’ve mentioned to others that he has a BS in BS. (Jokingly, of course.) Have a great day! 😀 —Diane

Music and movement are my strengths. Can follow instructions for knitting and sewing but not neatly or precisely. Got A’s in everything but C’s in handwriting as a kid. Those fine visual motor skills have NOT been a strength throughout my life 😆.

Really enjoy and appreciate any visual beauty though. As some have stated here, landscaping, woodworking, building, crafting, sewing/needle crafts can be artistic as well. Makes for a beautiful world.

I play instruments, paint with oils, and sketch. Was also a hand draftsman for many years, but AutoCad came out and killed that!

Artistic has a pretty broad definition. While I am musical and do photography, I can’t draw or paint. I am also a published poet. Almost everyone has some form of artistic ability but most won’t see themself as artistic.

I do paintings of animals in pastel, but I could not do a person if my life depended on it!
I also like decorating and doing crafty things.
