When you crawl into your cozy bed at night, do you usually or ever read before you fall asleep? For some people, reading in bed at night is part of their routine. For others, maybe they only do it if the book their reading is just so good and gripping they absolutely can not put it down! But for others, they prefer their books in the morning with their cup of coffee – ah, how relaxing!
We recently asked you if you have a favorite book. If you do, please tell us what it is here. Thanks!

When we go to bed, we are checking our eye lids for light leaks.
My wife reads when she goes to bed. I think it is because she has trouble falling asleep. Perhaps she thinks that she will get drowsy while reading and fall asleep easier, or perhaps she just wants to finish the book before it is due back to the library. If I read before falling asleep, I do it before going to bed.
Phones and lights off. Beds are for sleeping.
Yes. Bible every night via cellphone. No interruptions at bedtime.
I do read almost every night, but not in bed.
The lights go off and the eReaders go on every night.
A bed is made for two things; neither of which are enhanced by books, e-readers, nor television.
What? No Kama Sutra? 😉
Not when I go to bed at night, but I do read in bed before my afternoon nap.
I would fall asleep while reading in bed. Then, my mind seemed to think that anytime I read, it meant I wanted to fall asleep. Not good. So I quit reading in bed. Now I can read anytime and not worry about falling asleep in the middle of a good book.
You didn’t specify read what! I typically spend a few minutes when first going to bed reading my daily emails on my iPhone. So I voted “yes”.
My bed has only two uses and reading is not one of them.
I did read regularly before bedtime as a child (10 ~ 12) and enjoyed a variety of fiction novels.. I don’t remember why I got out of that habit. There are so many books I’d like to read. Maybe I can reestablish the bedtime reading habit.
used to all the time but not anymore. over 40-years we have built a very large personal library but have not added to it for about 10-11 years now.
Love my Paper White Kindle!
Whenever there is a new Star Trek book or something else that catches my interest (Taylor Anderson or Clive Cussler usually).
I used to read in bed – reading in bed was sure to put me to sleep – but now I need to wear glasses in order to read and I don’t want to bend or break my glasses when I fall asleep while reading.
