Isn’t RVing all about spending time in the great outdoors? Some of you may disagree. If you’re a full-time RVer, spending time outdoors may be the same as someone who’s not an RVer at all.
If you had to guess, how much time would you say you spend outdoors every day? No time at all? Maybe just an hour a day? Three hours? More than 7 hours each day?
After you vote, please leave a comment and tell us exactly how much time you spend outdoors and how you spend that time. Is it on a walk with the dog? Is it in a kayak? Is it just sitting around the campfire? We want to know!
It really depends on the time of year, how much daylight there is. Generally we are outside 3 or 4 hours when traveling. If we are home, then we work outside 4-7 hours, depending on what needs doing.
I love being outdoors but I have to wear a hat and dark sunglasses a lot. I don’t break out from the sun but have a light and heat sensitivity issue where it will trigger a migraine. I wear a hat, not a ball cap, every time I go outdoors in the summer because of this so my outdoor activity is somewhat limited. I even have a cab cover on my tractor for mowing.
Walk in the morning and again in the evening. Plus lawn work, daily chores, shopping and sitting in the patio watching golfers ….. some good and some REALLY bad golfers.
I had to give this question some thought, as it is weather and seasonally dependent. I spend 4+ hours outside most days, when temps are +55 and no rain. Less when it’s not. Here in NW WI we get 4+ months annually with average high daily temps below 55. So once again I’m “average” per the poll results (I’m OK with that). 🙂
When at home I spend about 2 hours a day outside but when camping we spend most of our time outside. We purchased a small trailer, 6’6” x 10’ x 6’2” high because we use it for sleeping, bathroom and shelter when the weather is disagreeable. We travel because we like the outdoors and love the great variety of our country’s landscape.
Does yard work count?
If you’re doing it outside!
Depends on whether we’re RVing (8 mo/yr) or back home in our S&B (4 mo/yr). Because we follow the weather, we spend more time outdoors throughout the year biking, hiking, and kayaking or just sitting out under the RV awning or our back patio at home taking in the “great outdoors”.
