Okay, shoe lovers. It’s time for you to confess! Tell us how many pairs of shoes you bring with you when you travel in your RV. Just include your shoes, not your partner’s shoes or anyone else’s who may travel with you.
Do you just carry one or two pairs—only what you really need? Or about five or six? 10? 15? More than 15? Wow!
If you have that many shoes, you’ll probably want to read Nanci Dixon’s article about a place you probably haven’t thought of to store shoes in your RV… It could help you out!
If you’re willing to admit the number out loud, leave a comment and tell us exactly how many pairs of shoes you have. Thanks!

Full-timers like me probably have more shoes!
Only 3. Pair of sneakers, pair of LL Bean slides and a pair of LL Bean leather boots.
Texas, Cross, sneakers, and loafers. Nothing dress up or formal.
I typically bring 3 pair of shoes; now for my wife – totally another story! So I answered 4-8 in hopes I got her covered.
I put 6 for myself but if I answered for my wife closer to 200.
All of them! We are full-timers.
We’re full time and I love shoes so I have more than 15 pairs of shoes!
I have one pair for every day kick around, you might call work shoes, a nicer pair, not really dress shoes but nicer looking. I have beach shoes for slipping on quickly and lounging and a pair of flip flops for shower shoes.
everyday, nice, reasonably waterproof, bath house, and slippers/house shoe. So 5 pairs. The nice pair doesn’t get a lot of use but that’s why they are nice (neither do the dress shirt and slacks – but just in case a more formal event arises and you cannot get back to a house, or have time to shop). The waterproof (low boot in my case) pair is great if you have to work outside in rain – or on occasion, snow. The rest are pretty self-explanatory.
Two, but only wear one of them.
Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 It depends on the trip. I keep one pair in the RV closet. I typically bring three additional pairs (two plus the pair I wear driving). When we went to Alaska, I must have had 6 or 7 pairs — two pairs of running shoes, muck boots, hiking boots, basketball high tops (I wear them when I drive), penny loafers (college graduation attended en-route), and a pair to slip on to take the dog out just before bedtime. Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
Two pairs of “sneakers” and a pair of sandals.
One pair tennis shoes and one pair of leather hiking boots.
However, if we ever go to an RV rally in Perry, GA again when rain is forecast, and get placed in the “flooded bowl of destruction” area, I’ll also pack a pair of hip boots! 😃 To be fair, that was in 2001, IIRC, and perhaps they’ve fixed that drainage issue now.
Way too many…but a girl has to have what a girl has to have! 😉
We learned, the hard way, to each pack two pair of sneakers/general purpose shoes. We decided to pack “lean” for a long weekend. One huge deluge later, and we ended up with damp feet much of the time.
Usually, I have my Crocs “door” shoes, also used for the shower. I usually have a pair of sandals, and may have hiking boots. My husband usually has a pair each of low hikers and more rugged boots, as well as the same assortment as I do.
Three for me. A waterproof, hiking style, a semi-regular pair for goin’ into town and a pair of slip-ons with toes that get melted at the campfire and reattached with Gorilla Glue to get thru the season!
Oh, and flipflops for the shower.
A pair of crocs, 1 pair of good shoes for church etc. 1 pair of athletic shoes, 1 pair of grubby work athletic shoes (we do mission work projects) and 1 pair of sandals.
The people with 15 pair or more evidently don’t travel in a Class B. I don’t even have 15 individual shoes, 15 individual socks maybe – darned dryer? For me, a pair of dress cowboy boots, a pair of kickin’ around boots, pair of sketchers and then shower shoes. One pair of boots (space wise) equals 4 pair of my wife’s footwear, some of which may be stuffed in my boots to save space.
Well, we’re full timers but I pretty much carried these before we changed to full time. Two pairs of athletic shoes, one in my fly-away bag for short term travel, two pairs of dress loafer, one in the fly-away bag, two pairs of brown boat shoes, one pair of black boat shoes and one pair of black lace ups, one pair of steel toed boots, one pair of swimming shoes and one pair of flip-flops. I think that’s 11 pair or 22 shoes.
