Airbnb rentals are becoming an increasingly popular alternative for RVers who are looking for a change of pace. Whether you’re tired of the constant upkeep of your rig or just want to enjoy a different type of escape, Airbnb offers options that can give you a completely different experience.
Imagine booking a cozy cabin in the mountains, where you can fully relax without worrying about dumping tanks or finding the nearest campground. It could be just the break you need after months of traveling in your RV.
On the other hand, Airbnb can provide solutions in cases where your RV just can’t go. Maybe you’re headed to a city with limited parking or rough terrain, and an Airbnb rental makes more sense logistically. Or perhaps you’re traveling with family or friends who aren’t as fond of the RV lifestyle and want more traditional accommodations. Whatever the reason, it’s a great way to mix things up while still enjoying the freedom that comes with traveling.

I’m wired the same but I guess if a full-timer’s rig is in the shop it might be an option for them over Motel 6.
I love the RV, but once or twice a year we travel with the DW’s sisters. They don’t RV, and our 24′ would mean getting a bit TOO close to my sister-in-laws. So we forego the RV, and rent a house so we all have our own bedrooms.
I have my own 43 foot airbnb mounted on wheels with more amenities than most airbnb’s.
I assumed you were using “AirBnB” generically. We have stayed at a VRBO occasionally.
Have no intentions now or ever. I have however rented a cabin but nothing to do with Airbnb.
We have stayed in a couple with our son and his family and their two Great Danes. With our RV, we were pulling a U-Haul trailer stuffed with their household goods from one coast to the other. The Airbnb’s were much better than hotels or motels for our situation.
Stayed in a VRBO, for 4 nights, last February in the Waterville Valley area of NH, to go to our granddaughter’s wedding. Flew up and back from our 6 months stay in Florida in our 5th wheel. Was cheaper to do that, then rent a room at the wedding venue.
We used Airbnb and VRBO this past year when we needed to have our motorhome in service for 3 weeks. We are full timers and it is a great way to stay somewhere comfortable in a location that you want to be. We have always had good experiences and will definitely use them in the future.
Stayed in one in LA area after reading too many reviews of hotels near the airport. My husband and I were delighted- clean, modern roomy. Our relatives, not so much. No morning breakfast or TV in each bedroom. They were also concerned about the neighborhood and safety. Would rent again if needed.
Never stayed in one, but I have gotten the scam emails advising that my reservation for x hundred dollars at y airbnb is confirmed and will be charged to my CC…click here if there’s an issue!
I understand that the Airbnb organization has recognized it was slowly choking itself to death. That is a good thing, because overall Airbnb’s were becoming more expensive than hotels by adding multiple extra fees with little to show that the nearby hotel didn’t also offer. About the only reason we use an Airbnb now is to accommodate trips with an extended family and want a common non-sleeping space.
Stayed in one once that was rented by the company I worked for at the time. Never rented one myself.
Once lived in ski resort. Investors buy homes in residential neighborhoods just to rent them with airbnb. Nightmare for permanent residents. Terrible renters for the most part.
Once had 300 college kids party in house across the street. It took police hours to clear them out.
Just last week attended a family wedding in LaGrande, Oregon. we. along with 2 other couples rented a 3 BR 2 bath duplex for the weekend. Very comfortable and much more economical than the hotel rooms that other family members stayed in.
Have Airbnb next door. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Maybe no more, as Milton took down the huge oak trees and the electricity to both of our houses and holes in their roof.
I had to travel to Ivins, Utah to be with my dying Brother. I used a VRBO and that was a very nice place, and wonderful and considerate owners who cared about me so very much. I lost him to Cancer, but the stay was both comfortable, and the sensitivity of the owners was very helpful and sincerely appreciated.

I used to be an Airbnb host until I got married to my wife, who came with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 parrot, and 1 horse. Love is giving up all your extra space…

Never… I tell my husband if I see a hair in the shower it better be ours!! Thats why we have been RVing for 24 years.
Thank you, RV Travel! We rarely stay anywhere other than in our house or RV. It is unusual for us to stay in a hotel or motel. However, on a recent celebratory trip to Ireland, we did stay a couple of nights in a bed-and-breakfast, which is as close as we’re likely to ever get to this air-thing.
