Whether it’s the wide-open landscapes of the West, the charming small towns of the Midwest, or the coastal beauty of the East, each state has its own unique draw. For some, it’s the stunning natural beauty that captivates them. Others may be swayed by the culture, food, or memories tied to certain places. Maybe you love the changing seasons in New England or the sunny, laid-back lifestyle of California. Every state tells its own story, and sometimes that story speaks directly to your heart.
On the other hand, some of us may find it impossible to choose just one favorite. Each state we’ve visited or lived in offers something special, making it hard to narrow it down. Perhaps the warmth of Florida’s beaches appeals to you just as much as the majestic peaks of Colorado. Or maybe it’s a mix of family history, life experiences, and personal preference that leaves you torn between a few top contenders.
We’d love to hear what makes your favorite state stand out. Is it the people, the scenery, or maybe a cherished vacation spot?
After voting in our poll, share your story in the comments and let us know why your favorite state is your favorite state. We can’t wait to hear!

Texas
Pennsylvania. I live here and have 4 different seasons.
Having lived in at least five different states, my favorites are none of those; favorites are Montana and South Dakota where I spent much of the 12 years full-timing.
South Dakota as well.
South Dakota!
I have three… Arizona, Nevada, & California (but becoming less of a favorite).
Having visited all 50 states as a vacationer, and nearly 60 other countries I can honestly say I do not have a favorite. The states are all unique, have their own beauty and history if you are willing to take the time and experience them. Some states might have more than others but we are lucky to have such diversity within our own borders.
Montana, Idaho & California
Florida from November to April, New Hampshire from May thru October & Alaska.
Wyoming. Lived in Cody area for 9 wonderful years and can not wait to return
Beware, Cody is not what it used to be. We are from Powell and done with Park County.
Lived in Utah many years ago. Miss it a lot and still my favorite. Live in Missouri now, and it’s a close second.
On Wisconsin! Beautiful landscapes, lots of history, an amazing state park system and ever-changing weather make living here fun. (Plus beer and brats!) Go Pack!!!
The one I have lived in for 60 years–Colorado. Why would I want to live anywhere else?
Until it got over run with transplants…Wyoming and Montana are experiencing that now.
We love Nevada, which is why we moved here 36 years ago. Ain’t goin’ anywhere else!
I like too many to have a favorite, but I can name a few I never want to visit again.
Most people tend to like where they live. I am 3rd generation Californian, grew up in the 50’s on the beaches of SoCal. Wonderful place to grow up, until it wasn’t. Then 50 years in a CA ski resort, but we fled the new CA crazies a few years ago. Now live in Missouri and very happy. Still winter at our AZ home but since Covid, it has become eastern CA.
Wintered twice in Apache Junction…no more thank you.
Oregon for its coastal state parks. We visit as often as we can!
AZ and SD (specifically western SD for us.
Have lived in 4 different states and visited 41. Have landed in, one way or another, a total of 44. Amazing scenery, people, and customs in each one.
North Texas. We built a 4800sf rock house on 8 acres 27 years ago, planted 30 live oaks, and several other trees along the way. We are totally gated with a gate, cameras and ponds with fountains. It’s our little paradise. We sit and watch deer, geese, raccoons , owls and all of Mother Nature from our two story tower that overlooks the trinity river bottom land. We built a 50×50 enclosed RV garage for our LondonAire RV. I mow about 6 acres and we love Texas. We vacation in the RV outside Texas, but love coming home to sweet Texas.
I’ve only RV’d to about 35 of them so I can’t say fully yet. So far it would be Arizona, Texas and Utah. Can’t wait to get to them all in the next couple of years!
Just like Dorothy said “there’s no place like home” in the Ozarks of Missouri!
Thank you, RV Travel! Virginia and Tennessee. Have a great week and safe travels!
