May 17, 2019 – The president of the RV Industry Association (RVIA), Frank Hugelmeyer, has resigned to accept a position as CEO of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).
Craig Kirby, senior vice president of government affairs and general counsel of the RVIA, will become the interim president. Kirby is a 25-year veteran of RVIA, where he oversees government relations, standards and the organization’s legal team.
There is no timetable yet to begin a search for a replacement for Hugelmeyer.
Prior to RVIA, Hugelmeyer was president and CEO of the Outdoor Industry Association for 14 years.
In an announcement from his new employer, Hugelmeyer said, “Boating and fishing are vital economic drivers and treasured American pastimes, so this is a special opportunity to combine my professional expertise with a lifestyle that personally means so much to me. By introducing more people to the joys of boating, strengthening marine advocacy and building greater industry unity, we’ll ensure that NMMA members have a bright future.”
Hugelmeyer will remain with RVIA for now to provide guidance and support during the transition. He will officially take the helm of NMMA on October 1, 2019.
