A major off-road race will close some BLM lands near Parker, Arizona. The BLM land closure may affect RVers, particularly boondockers and off-road enthusiasts. The agency says a temporary closure and restrictions of selected public lands will start January 4.
Parker 400 off-road race
The lands closure is to facilitate the Parker 400 off-highway vehicle (OHV) race. The closure is set around areas of events in and around the Parker 400 off-road race course near the communities of Parker and Bouse. The closure takes effect at 11:59 p.m. January 8, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. January 13, 2024. Temporary restrictions will be in place from 11:59 p.m. January 7, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. January 13, 2024.
Access to public lands in and around the off-road race event will be temporarily closed, restricted, or designated as spectator areas. Restricted and closed areas will be marked at key access points with signage, fencing, or barriers. For maps and information regarding both closures and impacted restricted areas click here. Copies of the maps are also available at the Lake Havasu Field Office, 1785 Kiowa Ave., Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

I wish we could be down there for that. Drat!
Thank you, Russ and Tina! Glad that they are trying to keep RVers and racers separate. 🙂
We were on Shea Rd between Parker and Bouse 2 years ago boondocking and there were signs up asking for volunteers to be course workers for 2 big off-road races (a 250 & a 400). We couldn’t do it but did get several days of watching the pre-runners. Way too cool!😎🏎️
