I had been happily using a Brita Water Filter Pitcher in my sticks-and-bricks homes for decades, but I had always found them at Costco and they were LARGE. Those pitchers always took up too much real estate in my RV refrigerator, so since I have been on the road I had kind of forgotten about my Brita Water Filter Pitcher. Why I never searched for a smaller one is beyond me.
For whatever reason, I was recently inspired to do so and I discovered that Brita does in fact make a smaller 6-cup water filter pitcher (the one I have). In fact, they make even a smaller, 5-cup water filter pitcher!
The 6-cup capacity pitcher measures 10.12 x 10.04 x 4.82 inches and weighs just 1.39 pounds. It’s narrow enough to fit nicely in my RV fridge without taking up the entire fridge.
It comes in three colors: red, turquoise, and white.

We use the Brita pitcher also, both in our home and in our TT. We’ve left it on the countertop in the trailer because it was too tall for the refrigerator. I’ll have to check the dimensions between the shelves before I order this, but it looks like a great idea.
Only issue I see with this is that being smaller, you’ll have to refill it more often. Which is a slow process 🙂
That’s certainly true, but our larger one doesn’t fit in our refrigerator.
Plse see my comment above, perhaps the model we have would work for you … it’s 10.5″ high x 11″ deep x 4.5″ wide … holds approx 64oz
I actually looked at that model but it’s too tall to fit our shelves.
It’s not slow at all.
Cheri have you ever timed how long it takes to run a full carafe of water through it? Also-does it have to live in the fridge and be cold, or can you just use it on your counter and stash it safely when you’re moving? Many thanks.
Janet, thanks for your question. I timed our 10-cup Brita (we don’t have the smaller model) three times, and it took 18 min. It does NOT live in the fridge, our fridge (8 cubic foot 2-way) is nowhere near big enough to hold a Brita, even the small one! Room temperature water is fine with us. It lives on the counter, and we place it in the sink with other items on travel days. As I said above, we love our Brita due to the environmental impact of plastic water jugs–plus the cost!
I guess it depends on your definition of “slow”. It wasn’t meant to be a criticism, just an observation. I have the larger, 10-cup model (10Hx7Lx5w). It took 5:30 to filter 7 cups and 18:00 to filter 10 cups. We are “half-timers”, in our motorhome 6 months a year, and the Brita is used daily, it is indispensable. We wouldn’t want to buy bottled water in plastic containers, which have to be recycled, or go to a landfill.

Thanks Cheri for another great article. We too use a Brita, but it’s a slimline … 2000ml/8cup … fits perfectly centered on bottom shelf of our dble door fridge … has a spigot making it easy to fill glasses/water bottles/ice cube trays w/o having to take it out of fridge. Definitely a must have in trailer, eventhough, we do have a filter on our incoming waterline. Was going to post pic but just realized that’s not possible … oh well … thanks again for your articles.

The Brita “Elite” filters clean out a whole lot more bad stuff (like lead) and, counterintuitively, work a lot faster. Cost more, but last 6 months. Very highly rated by NY Times testing. They actually rate it higher than the much-touted Berkey, partly because Berkey does not get their filters rated by third party testing, like NSA.
