RVers doing most holiday shopping online

(December 18, 2018) — Nearly two-thirds of the readers of will do at least three-quarters of their holiday shopping online, according to a survey in last Saturday’s newsletter.

Nearly 43 percent of the 457 readers who responded said they would do all their holiday shopping online, while another 20 percent reported they would do three-quarters of it in cyberspace.

Nearly four out of five readers reported they would do at least half their shopping online rather than in the brick-and-mortar world. Only 9 percent of the readers said they would do no online shopping.

“You wonder where this is all heading,” said editor Chuck Woodbury. “As I travel the country with my RV, I see one shopping mall after another closed. This survey certainly illustrates why that’s happening. If I were a brick-and-mortar retailer, I’d be very worried.”
