(December 18, 2018) — Nearly two-thirds of the readers of RVtravel.com will do at least three-quarters of their holiday shopping online, according to a survey in last Saturday’s RVtravel.com newsletter.
Nearly 43 percent of the 457 readers who responded said they would do all their holiday shopping online, while another 20 percent reported they would do three-quarters of it in cyberspace.
Nearly four out of five readers reported they would do at least half their shopping online rather than in the brick-and-mortar world. Only 9 percent of the readers said they would do no online shopping.
“You wonder where this is all heading,” said RVtravel.com editor Chuck Woodbury. “As I travel the country with my RV, I see one shopping mall after another closed. This survey certainly illustrates why that’s happening. If I were a brick-and-mortar retailer, I’d be very worried.”

Maybe some of the smaller strip malls can convert to overnight parking for travelers. Parking lots are in place as well as elect and water availability.
