RVers’ small acts of love. What are yours?

I was reading a heartwarming article in the New York Times where people had written in about the special things that their friend, spouse, or significant other do for them. The small acts of love. It was not the “big” things. It was the little things that said “I love you” and “I appreciate you” that had meaning.

What a great reminder to have gratitude for the often-overlooked things that matter. I stopped and started to think about all the things my husband does for me. The ones that sometimes silently say “I love you.”

My husband always folds the clothes while we banter back and forth about who washes and who folds. He saves the last bit of coffee for me. He loads the dishwasher, and sweeps and mops the floor. (Thank you! Thank you!)

The absolute best is that he buys me flowers for no reason and keeps the vase full on the kitchen table. He does that even though he doesn’t like the smell or appreciate flowers. He buys them because I like them. I sometimes take those amazing things for granted.

It was a moment of self-reflection, as well. Am I doing special little things for him, too? What are my small acts of giving love?

Valentine’s Day is coming up. What are the small things that your friend, parent, child, spouse, or significant other does for you?

Please fill out the form below, feel free to include a photo, and we’ll publish some of them in the week(s) to come. Perhaps we will even start a column. I guarantee just thinking about it will fill your heart.

A good reminder, Nanci. I hate to admit that I fail in this department, more than not.

Thank you for the reminder that it doesn’t have to be much. It can be NOT doing something just as well as doing something, too. Have a great day and safe travels! 🙂
