New “How To” series explains how to pick the right RV and dealership

Many people dream of owning an RV for travel or for vacations. But choosing the right RV and dealership is often daunting, especially when you don’t quite know what you are looking for.

The first step in purchasing an RV is to ask yourself what you would like to do in your recreational vehicle. Are you using it to travel the country or do you want to be out in a forest or desert away from it all? What sizes and styles do you prefer? Are you partial to purchasing a new or used RV?

Do you plan to use your RV for weekend trips, longer vacations, or as a second home in the winter in an RV park somewhere sunny and snowless? Perhaps you’re ready to sell your home and live full-time in an RV.

Use the Internet to browse RV brands and styles. There are numerous message boards for RV owners that contain useful information. Also visit RV shows and look at different features. Visit RV dealership service facilities to gauge their ability to work on your RV. Read more tips in The Daily Sentinel’s How To series.
