According to our host, the Arctic Fox has been largely unchanged since the early 2000s, but Northwood Manufacturing did make some significant changes to the 2024 Arctic Fox North Fork 25R model.
Northwood Arctic Fox is well-known for building quality 4-season RVs, and after seeing the level and thickness of the insulation on this trailer, it’s easy to see why.
While a generator does not come with the trailer, I do like that it is prepped and ready for one, including an exterior compartment to store it in, something that is always a conundrum for travel trailer owners.
Inside, I like the mini-dinette and its unusual placement on the backside of the front bedroom. This leaves plenty of room for comfortable theater-style seating in the slide living room.
I love the double stainless steel sinks and solid surface countertops in the kitchen. Appliances include a Furrion 3-burner cooktop and oven, microwave oven, and a 10-cubic-foot Norcold 12-volt refrigerator.
The bedroom features a queen-sized bed with lots of storage underneath. There’s also a lot of closet space and a nifty laundry chute in the bedroom that transports dirty clothes into the pass-through storage area until laundry day.

What’s not to like?
The rig looks like it is strong and sturdy, but I will say that it could use an aesthetic makeover. The interior design is pretty standard, old-fashioned RV fare, meaning darker wood paneling and cabinets, off-white walls, and old-fashioned upholstery.
Personally, I am not a fan of 12-volt fridges (although it seems to be the way things are going). And I am definitely NOT a fan of Norcold (long story).

We have a 2012 Arctic Fox 25Y – and love it. It worked well when we were forced to live in it full-time down in Houston for almost two years.
Now, I can’t believe they went to a Schwintek slide system! Ours is rack and pinion and the slide is heavy. Not much kitchen storage. Hard to shimmy around the bed. It does look like with the slide in, you could ‘use’ the trailer. Outside storage looks a bit scarce though. But, still a quality trailer.
I wanted a Outdoors RV 25RDS. They opened a Dealership in Pa and they got a 2024 in. For 2024 they switched to the Schwintek slide system. Told them I didn’t want one with the Schwintek slide. They even had a person call me from Outdoors RV try to convince me. Plus the dealer was wanting too much.
Wow! I guess they wanted you to buy that 25RDS pretty bad. But I agree. No Schwintek for me – ever. I’ve heard too many bad stories about them. But there are those folks who swear by them (or at them – maybe I just misunderstood them – ha).
Have a 25R 2016 , I don’t like the idea of the bathroom door opening toward the refrigerator?
12 volt refrigerator not liking that, table to small , give me the chairs were the table is would be better. As far as quality in this trailer, Its been the best !!!! well worth the extra $$ .
