The 2024 Keystone Cougar 22RBS might be a small travel trailer, but Josh the RV Nerd (our reader’s #1 pick for Best RV Reviews YouTube channel), says it is made for big people. Throughout the video he gives reasons for saying that.
I like this one a lot. Especially its practical open floor plan, the enormous amount of storage, and the way that Keystone included features you would normally see in much larger RVs such as the comfortable theater-style seating in the living area.
When it comes to this being a big person’s RV, it starts with a king-sized bed, something hard to find in trailers this small. I like that Keystone includes a privacy curtain here so your view upon entering need not be assaulted by the open bedroom.
The domed-shaped ceiling gives more headroom and opens the space up.
I like the fact that the kitchen features a 10.40-cubic-foot Norcold refrigerator, which is larger than in many small trailers. I always say the bigger, the better, when it comes to RV fridges. The Furrion oven, at 21 inches, is also larger than in most small RVs.
The kitchen also has a surprising amount of counter and food prep space. I like the corner placement of the HUGE kitchen sink. This is a nice feature as so many small RVs come with tiny kitchen sinks. Not this one! The elevated breakfast bar (or workstation) is also nice, although you will need to pick up a couple of bar stools.
Just inside the door is a large floor-to-ceiling closet that can be used for hanging wardrobe, pantry storage, or a bit of both.
Again, the functionality in the bath is amazing for a small trailer. There is plenty of room when sitting on the toilet or standing in the semi-circular shower. There’s also plenty of storage in there, too.
The other great factor about this trailer is that it is as close to four seasons as it gets in an RV. It’s been tested from 0 to 110 degrees F. The heat ducting smartly runs along the water lines so that it heats these, too. There is a heated underbelly, individually heated tanks, and more.

What’s not to like?
With the slide room in, the only way you can get to the bed is by hopping over the breakfast bar counter. However, you will be able to get to the kitchen and bathroom without issue, even with the slide in.
At 54 gallons versus 30 gallons, there’s a pretty big discrepancy between the size of the fresh water and gray water tanks.
Josh also pointed out what appeared to be wasted space above the microwave that could have been storage. It’s small; nonetheless, I wholeheartedly agree with him that any amount of wasted space in an RV is too much wasted space.
Windows are a bit lacking in this model. So if panoramic views from inside your RV are important to you, this might not be the best travel trailer for you.

I purchased a new 2022 Keystone Cougar TT in January 2023. It’s a piece of junk. Nothing but problems causing extensive trips to repair shop and cancelled camping trips. In August 2023 I was told I need a new roof. Keystone is balking at making the replacement under warranty. DO NOT buy any Keystone RV.
