It might sound strange to have a bunch of inland lighthouses situated around Arizona’s Lake Havasu, but when you consider that the landlocked Arizona town is also home to the legendary London Bridge, it doesn’t seem so strange after all.
Lake Havasu’s inland lighthouses are fully functional smaller-sized replicas of lighthouses from around the country. The Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club, founded in 2000 by a group of boaters, constructed the lighthouses to make it easier to navigate the lake. Instead of just putting navigation lights on posts, the club decided to build beautiful but practical replicas of famous American and Canadian lighthouses.
The club keeps lighthouses modeled from those on the East Coast on the east side of the lake and the from the West Coast, of course, are on the west side. The island houses replicas of Great Lakes lighthouses.
Lighthouse fanatics come from all over the world to explore these lighthouses. If you are snowbirding in Quartzsite, this is an easy day trip, or Lake Havasu makes a fabulous winter RV destination in and of itself.

When we were lighthouse tour guides in Oregon in 2019, we always amazed folks on our tours by telling them about these lighthouses in Arizona. Hard to believe since it’s a landlocked state.
We’ve seen most of these on our trips to Lake Havasu. The Umpqua River Lighthouse where we worked is also a miniature here.
Nice report on another desert destination, thanks Cheri !
