Whew! It’s been a long couple of weeks. Noticed anything different here? How about our brand-spankin’ new website? Looks pretty nice, doesn’t it? We have a great team (shout out to our WordPress wizards, Kim and Jess, who made this whole thing possible) – we sure couldn’t have done it without them! (Anyone want to guess how great Chuck’s technical skills are? I’ll give you a hint. It starts and ends with a zero.)
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and are now jumping into December with full bellies and plenty of holiday spirit.
Since we didn’t have a newsletter with any polls last Saturday (you can read our very limited newsletter here), this will be a little bit shorter than usual.
On Monday we asked the RV co-pilots, “How would you describe your driver’s abilities?” We’re thrilled to announce that you feel like you’re riding with pretty good drivers! A large 71 percent (1,201 votes) of you said your driver’s abilities are excellent, 23 percent answered you think they could stand a little bit of improvement, but, eh, they’re pretty good. A small 4 percent of you say that you never really feel comfortable and safe, and a tiny 2 percent of you say that your driver’s driving abilities scare you to death! Yikes! Time to find a new driver! Maybe you can hitch a ride with one of those 1,201 excellent drivers mentioned above.
On Tuesday we wanted to know the longest you’ve ever stayed in one RV park or campground with your RV. Majority says the longest you’ve stayed in just one park is between a week and one month, 30 percent say between one month and six months, and 7 percent say you’ve stayed longer than six months (some longer than a year!).
What did Wednesday really teach us? That you love memory foam. Half of you, 49 percent, think your RV’s bed is very comfortable, but judging by the… hold on, let me count… 25 comments, that’s mostly because you’ve either put in a brand-new bed (one that didn’t come with your RV), or you’ve added a thick memory foam topper to it. Another large 46 percent of you say it’s either fairly comfortable or just okay, and 5 percent of you think the floor might be more comfortable. Ouch! Danny commented, “We replaced the RV mattress in our travel trailer with a 10-inch memory foam one from Amazon, and when we upgraded to a new TT the dealer swapped our mattress. The guys (three of them) had a heck of a time getting our mattress in the new trailer. Those things they put in travel trailers shouldn’t even be considered a mattress.”
And lastly, on Thursday we wanted to make sure that you inspected your RV’s roof before buying it. Unfortunately, 66 percent of you did not inspect it, but a smart 34 percent of you did.
For those of you who answer these questions honestly, thank you. We don’t judge you; it’s all stuff we have to learn along the way. We’re in this together.
Okay, folks. My computer charger is busted, so I’m saying goodbye before it cuts off my power. Technology these days, huh? Can’t live with it, can’t live without it.
See you next week, when we’ll be back in full swing!
